Cayuga Raceway Event

Spring is around the corner and the dragstrip will be openning up soon. I would like to guage interest if any 1ers or E90 guys local to the area would be interested in doing a Cayuga Raceway event? If there is any interest I will give the raceway a call to discuss logistics and potential pricing. Attached is a link to the safety requirements of the dragstrip.

I believe awesome does not accurately describe the experience, exhilarating is a more appropriate description. The tune is incredibley smooth and responsive. It is night and day compared to the JB+.

Needless to say I left the event with a BMS Drop In Filter and the JB3 2.0. Can't wait to try map 5 in a few days. Next up, AMS FMIC, NST Crank Pulley and P3C Integrated Guage. I promised myself that I would not go with DPs but now I am considering catted 3" DPs.

Ok I will update this thread and keep a list of names that are interested in the event.

I could not give you an honest answer on the filter, I think its marginal considering I swapped to the JB3 2.0 at the same time. I am not totally sold on intakes as of yet so I figured a $59 filter would probably suffice for now.

I have an email into the raceway to find out when they are open along with any pricing details for groups etc. It would be nice to get a date in mid April. I want to advantage some cooler or mid range temperatures to help our traps!

I will keep everyone posted.

Are we doing the strip(1\4mile) or the track which I think is an oval. (not sure).

Haha, this is coming together nicely. We could have a really good event here. We need to get Turkish out as well as Mike. Would be nice to see Untouchable and Lazy as well. Get some of those heavily modded folks out and see if we can't have a few guys in the 11s.

Just a thought... we should target for end of May. That way less risk with bad weather and it gives enough time for OPs looking to upgrade their differential to LSD...

Update:

Cayuga Raceway opens April 3rd, 2010. The cost of entry is a whopping $20.00 yes that's right, 20 bucks. I have been in contact with the Director of Racing, Neale Armstrong, yes Neale Armstrong. He offers classroom instruction free of charge for those interested.

So for $20 bucks we can track till our hearts are content as well as get some instruction. Lastly, we can choose to rent the track for our group only. I will be working with Neale to determine pricing.

I will be going to visit the track on the second week of April to have some fun on my own and to also scout the facilities for a potential dedicated track day for us bimmerforum folk.

I would like to propose Friday May 7th as a potential day for us to do our thang!

Woohooo only a couple of months away!
