Winter Storage

Greetings Guys

i'll be storing my car for winter starting from Dec 1st up to April and am wondering what to do with the battery though. found a deal at 350$ in a heated garage

the garage is not mine and i'll have no option to start my car every now and then plus i don't want to impose a Ctek battery charger to the garage owner since i don't think he will believe that the electricity consumption from the power outlet will be rather minimal.

so, since as per the threads a Battery tender/charger is a must. Should i just take off my Battery and bring it back home to plug it to the Ctek Charger ??

Thanks.

I think I would prefer an unheated garage as heat can accelerate rusting I believe. I may be wrong on this, so maybe someone can clarify.

Mine will be 3 months in an unheated, but insulated, garage and on the battery trickle charger.

If its a temperature controlled garage you'll be fine

I'd just take the battery off if your worried, or offer the garage owner another 25-50 to leave the trickle charger on no way it's coasting him that much n his energy bill I store my baby's as well

I would think a heat garage, around 70 degrees, would be excellent.

Thats 4 months; if your battery is less than 3 yrs old, you might be OK. Still, it would be best to charge it a bit mid storage so end January.

At that price, just offer an extra amount for the battery tender. He has got to like the extra cash, and if you can afford the storage, you can afford the extra amount--probably what you would spend on a night or two on the town food and drink. Thats nothing compared to the peace of mind...

Would there be any problems when reconnecting the battery after such a long time? Or would the computers just be oblivious?
