"Year One of the 1" Ring on 1 series??
I've checked on lots of 1 series and I would say half of them don't come with the "year one of the 1" ring?? and that's on 08 models. I've check a 09 model at downtown BMW and it doesn't come with the ring too, are we suppose to get the ring with a 1 series or not??

Yes, I am refering to the ring around the "start/stop" button", some of the 1er's get them but some of them don't have it.. for example, there's 3 1 series in the showroom at downtown BMW, none of them get the ring...

Canadian cars were never supposed to have them. They were put on the first two months of production in error.
The engraving was exclusive to the U.S. just like the book. BTW, I've got it

My build was Feb '08 and delivery was April 5th and my starter button ring has the engraving.
I'm pretty sure that'll add at least $1K to the eventual trade value.

As I understand it, only those countries who have previously NOT had a 1 series model get it in the coupe/vert as it is the first and only model in the series currently offered there.
Europe and Aus, for example, have had 1 series 5 doors (and in some countries the 3 door version of the same car). for a number of years so it would not make any sense to have the year of the 1 when it is not ;-) cheers |
