Be careful because there are many different types of tint. You get what you pay for! Check your local laws regarding tint and what percentage you can have. If you plan to move soon check that state as well. You want a good tint that will not fade and turn colors. Also make sure that they are metallic free as it may interfere with accessories like the bluetooth and comfort access. Also check and see if they offer a lifetime warranty and 50 state wide in case you do move. If you have children consider scratch resistant. Usuall the limit is around 35% which is not very dark, but enough to keep your car not as hot without it. I would inspect the car after the installation to make sure that they did not cut the rubber molding around the door as some shops will cut the film on the outside. A good shop will not have to cut at all if they are able to cut the film with a computer for exact sizing. Also ask if the door panels are going to be removed or not. Again check and see if it is put back together right. I recently had mine tinted and they were able to cut the film with a computer and removed the door panels for better fitting. They also happened to somehow cut a very small nick into the leather and have to replace it. They offerec a lifetime warranty 50 state wide and will never fade. I paid about $320 with a dealer price. Check with your sales rep and see if they can recommend a shop and price. I saved about $75 doing that. Good luck!

Thanks much for the info! No kids. Live in the Florida heat though. Also, think the tint and some new 162's will finish off the look.
thanks again. |

Not black but you get the idea. Black interior will make the tint look darker then it is.
45% all the way around. |

I live in L.A. And even though the laws prohibit it, I, like so many other Angelinos, tint my windows. I tinted ALL the windows, front, sides, rear. The front tint I used is just like the factory front tint, practically invisible, but blocks out the UV light for the entire windshield, thus protecting my interior and dramatically reducing nighttime glare. I highly recommend it. I tinted the front sides a bit lighter than the rear sides and rear glass. I tinted the rear sides and rear glass the same. The slight difference between the front and rear side windows looks amazingly sophisticated.

I have 40% all around. I love it. I think the darker tint makes it look like a drug dealers car and its harder to see at night. This looks very classy to me and greatly helps reduce the amount of day light that gets into the car.
