drivers exterior mirror damage

Hi
I had a bad case of big tree branch Vs side of car--luckily only damage was complete breakage of drivers external mirrow--as if a sword cut it close to side of car!

I had AAMI fix it at a place in Bentleight--their authorized repaired--"Smart" repairs or something

When I got it back-car--noticed all was looking good. But then I noticed there was a small difference to drivers side mirror external Vs to passengers side

the passengers external mirror has an outer more magnified section of rear view
whereas the drivers side external mirror is just one mirrow ( not like passengers side)

Can anyone share what is the original mirror -drivers side meant to be like
I have a 2009 convertible 135i---And love it
cheers
Oscar

The passenger side is sometimes magnified, Haven't seen that on the driver side in my travels.

Does it have the blind-spot curve at the side like the passenger one?

I have a 2009 E88 135i and both my passenger and driver side mirror have the convex edge area. They've never been damaged or replaced.

AAMI are the bottom of the barrel insurer, reason why they are the cheapest, I now pay extra and happy with Allianz. Long story, but you get what you pay for.

This is true. Had to fight tooth and nail (ended up have demurrage handle it) to get my preferred repairer.

Both sides should have it.

They cheaped out and bought the non-convex glass

Went to repairer and they didn't believe me that both ext mirrors should be the same

After a call to BMW they quickly changed their minds
And will reorder the correct mirror
