would 18x8 et40 square setup work?

wondering if 18x8 et40 rims front and rear would work for my 135i and what tire size you'd recommend?

i've gone through the fitment thread and there seems to be a few square setups discussed but some are from long ago and i can't read the full post

I don't think you will fit a 235 on the front without rubbing, so you should get 225/40/18 for the front.
Rear would probably be wise to chose 235/40/18.

I'd suggest to get some wider fitting sporty tires such as Michelin PSS or Goodyear Eagle F1.

Garage List
245 square on 18x8.5 ET40 works just fine as long as you've got enough camber in front. 235 will work better on 8 inch wheel with ET40. You might need to run a small spacer up front to make that fitment work (2-5mm).

Source: I'm currently running 245 on 18x8 ET40 front and 255 on 18x9 ET40 rear. I needed a lot of fender work to make that rear work though. Keep in mind that the true width of a "245" tire is going to vary..

I have no issues running 18x8.5 ET40 all round with 225/40/18 & 255/35/18.
No fender work or spacer on front, rear fenders are slightly rolled.

Since this is a similar fitment I chose to tack my question on sorry. I am trying to do 18x9 et40 all around and will probably try do a 235/35 and 255/35. Car has m3 control arms, Dinan camber plates, will be on Dinan springs. Don't mind if I have to work the fenders a little bit. Have GC camber plates not on the car but I can put them in if I need them. Already looked on willtheyfit and doesn't seem too radical however I don't know if I will need spacers or not. Anyone know?

You'll have trouble fitting that even with guard work. Will definitely rub in the rears unless you run a crazy amount of camber. I'm on 18x8.5 ET40 with a 255/35/18 in the rear with rolled/pulled guards and -2.5degrees negative camber it still rubs.
