Pre-Pickup Inspection
Got the call this weekend that my 1 is ready for pickup.
What do you guys look for before signing on the dotted line? Cosmetic defects, start up the car, etc... Any input is appreciated since this is the first new car i have purchased! |

Also check to make sure the steering wheel is straight when the car is going straight. Check the wheels for any peeling paint or cracks, also check the windshield for clarity/waves.

That is a great question cdub! I have always bought used cars before so this is my first Brand-new car as well. Everyone who has experience on this forum should contribute to this so we can make a list and sticky it for those of us who are noobs to new cars (if not to bimmers).

If you have Montego blue, inspect the paint for blotching. There was a bad paint batch allegedly. I saw a 135i at my dealership that was being sent back due to this paint defect.
Also, inspect seats and upholstery for tears, paint for scratches, and check all electronics like radio, sat. radio, lights, turn signals, high/low beams, etc. Go through the tool kit too. |
