No. The 2 is the next generation 1 with a different name. Its mostly new, just the N55 and associated components from that are carried over.

Yes that's a little thing that does not take much effort but when my hands are full its a god send.
Legend has it, that owner's manuals are even available on-line.

Regarding comfort access, I don't have it on the 135 but my wife has it on her X1 and it is pretty cool. They only drawback is when two people have fobs and try to get it at the same time. I find that I have to race my wife to the car and open her door for her (she keeps her key in her purse), just to make sure the car opens with my fob settings.

It does make me look like a gentleman when I do it, though!

280 eventually got the factory alloys.

Thanks for sharing
Seriously, it's a nice change of pace seeing awesome old cars that is not an e30. The best 'vettes for me are the C2 and C3.

Love those stingrays as well, one of the prettier cars from the states almost as nice as a Dino or a gto 250. The only genuinely pretty modern bimmer to me is the z8. The prettier sister is the mazda rx7 to me .

The One is a unique vehicle which mimicked the iconic 1600, 1602, and the 2002 of the 1970s. It isn't a pretty car just like the cars it payed homage to, but it is a very good ride. It is very unlikely that another example similar to it will be coming down the road soon or ever again.

After my recent experience in the Floaty Boaty or X4, it is clear that BMW is headed in a very different direction. That is building goofy looking land yachts with lots of electronic gizmos and loads of comfortable amenities primarily for the kiddies and their parents.

Anyway BMW mechanic laboriously worked on my 135i for several days and eureka my Vanos bolts have been replaced. The SA didn't want to let me see the Vanos bolts until I told him I'd have him excommunicated by the pope. He changed his mind and produced 8 bolts. Seeing 8 bolts was important being that none had disappeared into the engine! Anyway they looked fine.

What lays in store for me as the odometers rolls on? I had better buy an extended warranty before the original expires.

BTW, it is a loaner, and BMW didn't provide me with an owner's manual.

Incidentally I enabled daytime running lights, but they don't work unless I push a little bar below the light switch.

I see all of this stuff as overly complicated, and it doesn't add anything to my driving enjoyment or experience.

I'll be happy to return this heap back to BMW!
Sounds like you need a car with an 8-track and roll-up windows.

i3 is pretty awesome. I'd drive that daily and keep my future classic in the garage if I had two cars.

You are definitely not mistaken. I have dreams about this car, even when I am awake.

The Stingrays are pretty (and fairly powerful) but... The stock chassis/suspension is not good.

About 30 years ago, I had a racing buddy in the car biz let me drive a 70s Stingray (C3) he was delivering to a customer. On the way back (in a 7 series) I said "gees, that car drives horribly." "Yeah, they do." he replied.

I suppose modding it heavily could help. Or just looking at it as an art object.

On the other hand another friend's C5 was awesome. Unfortunately the electronics (top of the line options) were buggy and unfixable by his dealer. He sold the car.

I think, based on the reviews, the Corvette is finally a world class sports car.

Really I can't see how you can intelligently compare these two vehicles and proclaim that suddenly BMW is "headed in a very different direction". These two vehicles ARE worlds apart and they ARE marketed to different types of customers. Do you suppose that BMW should stick to its roots and only produce small cars? I'd rather they let those roots mature into a full tree with lots of different branches. It's an SAV, it ain't gonna drive like its on rails. I own an X3 as well as a 135 and they are different vehicles for different purposes. As for your school yard comment about who would drive an i3 and the bit about fruit cake.......well the stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me.

My father bought a C3 in 1968. He decided to open it up after he broke it in. At 100 mph the t tops blew off of the car, then the pneumatic wipers topped working, then he remembered that it bad to drive. So he sold it after 6 months and bought an E Type.

He hates Corvettes to this day because of a bad car he had 45 years ago

x100000. The best of the ferraris under enzo (probably the best of all time), stuff that dreams are made of. The 250 gto might be the most expensive but this is my fav of all.
