Smile I'm all ordered too

WOOHOOOOO!! Just got back from the dealer. My car is currently specced as:

135i With
Alpine White
Terra Leather
Gloss Black Trim
Premium Package
Sports Package
Heated Seats
Premium Hifi
Ipod/USB Adpater
Satellite Radio

I didn't get the nav or the comfort access, but most everything else.

They tried the MSRP thang on me, but since I am a repeat customer, 8 time BMW owner, and involved in the local chapter, I managed about a thousand off MSRP. I did have copies of the Invoice and MSRP docs from their Centernet system with me (that I got from here), that showed that I kind of know what I'm talking about.

Now the wait begins!! :headbang:

Congrats Larryn. And you managed to get $1K off??? Great job! Did you initially want to do ED?
Im still searching for a way to do ED on the 135i but it seems BMW is not allowing this for the first batch at least?

Larry - cool, I haven't made the trip to the dealer yet after my initial visit this fall. I have pretty much given up on the idea of doing an ED this time around (tii anyone ; -). Tell your delaer he can sell another one just like yours (except different, Sparkling Graphite, Taupe Leather, and no Sat radio being the differences ; -) for the same price if he wants to.

Terra, LWB8 = Terra, which is the code in Centernet. The wording is incorrect.

I went to Peter Charlebois the Gallery in Norwell. quick, easy, and totally painless. They have two open slots remaining for initial production, I believe.

Unfortunately, I gave up on ED. Last ED was a $10k+ vacation, and although I had "permission" from my wife to do one sans family for a week, and just visit relatives, I opted to not put that strain on my marriage. I didn't think it would fly that well in the long run doing a vacation without the wife.

WooHoo indeed. As I understand, it is possible to tweek the order spec up til' production actually begins. If so, how is that accomplished?

As an alternative, have you thought about Performance Delivery in Greenville?

I think I am going to go for that. It sounds like a great experience, and I don't mind the drive back to MA (the cape).

Just call the dealer, and they change it in the ordering system. They'll get a confirmation, and you're good to go. We're at status 111 (Order Accepted) now, and once you reach 112 (Production Scheduled), you can't change things on the order anymore. That won't be until up to a month from now, unless they want to do a big production push and get them built soon.

Changes that effect cost, you may have to sign a new contract for, and go into the dealership for. Btw, don't be doing that unless you really have to (as i'm sure you already know). It's not difficult to do, but probably something you shouldn't do a bunch of times. That would be a bit of dealer abuse....

I put in for Terra today too, after making it clear that I wanted Terra and not Terracotta. I showed him a copy of the post larryn made showing the two colors side by side, just to make sure. He showed me the hard copy of the brouchure which he just received. It's the one that was posted here earlier but it has changed somewhat since then. It also has Terracotta listed as a leather choice, but the color swatch is obviously Terra. That made me feel better.

Congrats!! You should go for the CA though! It's one of those things you don't think you need until you have it and then you can't live without it.

Thanks guys! As for production numbers, as I was leaving the dealer, I got the ole: "I'll call you with the production number, but you'll definitely be in our first group of cars built". So, My ETA will be March 22 on launch day.

As for comfort access, I could never remember a time when I had my hands full enough to not get to the key, but had a free hand to open the door. It's nice, but seems frivolous to me. I need my exercise of lifting that 10gram key to the slot every day. Plus, I'm the type of person that would get used to not "needing" the key, and leaving it in the house or at work, causing me to be locked out.

Hey C_Topher -- tell me more about Performance Delivery. I'm not familiar with it, but I'm less than 2 hrs from Greenville.

I agree with you on the CA thing, seems a bit silly to me. If it was a remote start system i would be all about it but as is, just one more gizmo to malfunction and give bmw a bad name in electronics reliabilty.

Regarding changing the order, what would it take to change from black leather to terra? Can I just email them? I put in my deposit yesturday and have a production number 391... (dealer said build date 3rd week of Feb.), and any recomendations on ensuring I don't get terracotta? And lastly, is the picture in the configurator (UK) accurate? That is, is it really a dark brown?

Thank you for your replies to a laundry list of questions
