This would be your track then. Do you know what direction you are running? I did have one off though... In my instructor session coming out of the carousel. As I hit the apex just before getting on the straight I gave it a little too much throttle and the back end snapped around and I went off into the grass. I am still trying to pick the grass out of my car. Nothing hurt except my ego There was a slight dip in T10 that you could hit which would upset the car (in a good way) and allow you to rotate in/out of the corner. I was a little disappointed to find out that they repaved this section and the dip is gone now. I am sure you can get through it faster/smoother now but it was one of those fun areas that if you got right just felt good.

Add one more 1M to the list!
I drove my car down from Minnesota yesterday. My flight left DFW Saturday morning at 7:30 AM. Arrived MSP at 9:25. By 10:30, I was on the road with my 1M and I pulled into DFW (I had to get something out of my other car, which was parked there) at 1:30 AM after 15 hours of driving, 1,002 miles, one stop for food and a few stops for fuel. Total distance traveled by air and 1M - 2,000 miles in 18 hours. Reunited and it feels so good... I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. |

I forgot to add I ALMOST lost my digital torque wrench to the TSA when going through airport security. Actually, I would have missed my flight before doing that, since the wrench cost more than the flight.
I had to do some serious pleading, explaining and sweet talking--but really 90% of the credit goes to an understanding and kind TSA agent. I was really nervous I was going to have to miss my flight, since I didn't have time to get out of the security line, check my bag, go back through security and still make my flight. After answering the question, "what does it do?", I tried my best to explain that my torque wrench was less a "tool" (apparently there's a restriction on tools over 7 inches?) and more a calibrated, precision "instrument" that needed to be carried on. |

Upcoming events
Hi all,
If anyone is planning to go to Cars and Coffee this Saturday, I'd love to meet up at the event. Let me know where you'll be, or PM me and I can send you my contact info. http://dallas.carsandcoffee.info/directions.php Same is true for the Dallas Auto Show, which is coming up March 13-17. The 17th is out for me, but the other days should work. http://www.dallasautoshow.com/ And I'm not sure if I'll be going, but I wanted to give a heads up that registration for Oktoberfest 2013 at Laguna Seca opens this week on March 1. http://www.bmwccaofest.org/home.phtml It's good to be in Dallas--now I just need to get my BMWCCA membership transferred to the Lone Star Chapter. |

I typically don't make cars and Coffee. My weekend 6am alarm clock is only set for Motorsport events, not " show and shine " type events... This weekend I'll either be at the lone Star chapter autocross or at Grand AM at COTA... I am definitely considering Ofest at laguna Seca. |

Cars and coffee sounds like fun. I've got plans this weekend already though. If you are wanting to get your car inside the lot then you need to be there by 7am. After that you'll most likely have to park off premises and walk over. Have fun!

Cars and Coffee was good. My first one in Dallas and--while I don't have a previous one to compare it to--I'm guessing attendance was lower than normal because of the near-freezing temps (and maybe the Grand-Am race in Austin). The BMW turnout seemed especially low. It was still fun, though. And it was nice meeting fermat1313 and seeing his VO 1M.
I also saw another VO 1M on FM407 in Highland Village around noon. Was that anyone on here? |

GRAND-AM was AWESOME!!!!
Much better than the F1 race IMO... V8 Supercars next for me, then Trifecta in June, and ALMS in Sept!!! BMW's dominated with a 3rd in ST ( 1series ), Turner M3's w/Billy Auberlen taking the win in both GS and GT, and a hard fought 3rd for Pruett/Rojas in DP... Exciting to the finish in all four classes.
