tires update after 24.5K miles

I think these OEM tires are excellent tires for everyday commute. Second photo is the front tire, last photo is rear tire.

Which tires are they? Bridgestones? Sport? 330 or 325?

The rears look way more worn but still decent after 15K. I bet another 15K left.

Kind of what I was thinking. Miami - flat, straight roads with lots of traffic. No winding mountain roads to Julian beckoning....

Yes, because in my previous e series, I have had to buy new tire at 22K. So I wanted to maximize the life of these tires. I do make quick turns here and there but not too many times.

I thought I would see more wear on the tread as well. The longer they last the better for me cause I do not want to look forward to the day I need to replace them (too much $$$).

That is very good tread life for summer tires. Are you seeing any feathering on your driver's side front? Have you had them rotated?

Any second now this will be moved to the Wheels & Tires section....

I don't know what feathering is but I think I know what your are talking about. If you look at middle photo, that is the front driver's side tire. The last photo is the rear driver's side as well. The rubber compoud surface has a smooth wear (hence no feathering if that is what you are talking about). I do not rotate these tires because they are staggered front and rear.

Well after 24,500 miles, here is my original sport tire. Compared to my first post, you can see the wear. It wears out more in the middle of the tire. I am very lazy and I have been driving around with -7 psi of the recommended pressure until I get around to checking the pressure and give it the right pressure. Also this is the rear tire image. Rear tires wear out more than front. Front has more tread. Will need to replace the rear soon. Me going with same tire cause 25K miles is not bad with good all around grip (dry and wet).

Looks better than expected I must admit! I still plan on changing to PS'2 when a set goes out. Went to the dealer and they wanted $375 for front and $425 for rears so if you do the math the PS'2 are a better deal and tire by far!

asked dealer yesterday, they have my rear tires in stock and they are asking $389 per tire only (before mount and balance). yike

I must have RFT since I only have one car and I need the continuous support of RFT, RFT takes the stress out of having to get the tire fix asap.

I am very impressed with the wear so far too.

I disagree-not having both makes the gauges look less clutered: how many times do you need to see the MPH ? Unless you go to the US very often....and even then, we (in Canada) know our MPH equivalents by heart.

For our US guys and gals, really the same logic applies-their gauges less cluttered but, unless you are in the border states, when exactly will you need to refer to Kmh ? I actually wonder why the US gauges don't just have the MPH info ?

But it is likely bcs of cost (same gauges as UK).

I always used a penny to test tread depth (or maybe it was a dime). Have I had it wrong all this time? Not that it matters now.
