Let's Cruise for Cancer and raise money to stop this disease dead in its tracks! www.throtl.comThe San Diego Cruise for Cancer is an organized drive from the Carlsbad, down the scenic 101 Freeway. We'll drive approximately 30 miles through Encinitas, Solana Beach, and Del Mar. Anyone is welcome to cruise with the group! Everyone should plan to meet at Carlsbad Cars and Coffee (Cbad Cars) at 8:30AM. We'll all plan on leaving together at 9:00 AM SHARP and driving down the 101 from there. Our end destination, HG Motorsports, in Sorrento Valley, offers a great venue for everyone to hang out after the cruise. NO SPEEDING, BURNOUTS, or any other showboating! Remember, we are out to raise awareness for Cancer, not make the daily news for being idiots. We suggest a donation of $50 per participating car, however we welcome any donation amount, driving or not. Of the seven most common cancers in the US, melanoma is the only one whose incidence is increasing. Between 2000 and 2009, incidence climbed 1.9 percent annually. If caught early, this type of cancer can be taken care of with no long term effects. Rick and Evan, Founders of throtl and one of the sponsors of this event, have had someone dear to them impacted by this disease. Their mother was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma in 2014 and has been fighting this disease ever since. “Modern advancements in immunotherapy drugs have revolutionized cancer treatments and have made a huge difference in our Mom’s fight against melanoma. We want to raise awareness for this disease, and most importantly, make a contribution towards more research into these highly advanced treatments. Thanks so much for your participation, and we look forward to having you involved in this amazing event.” Rick and Evan
