What spark plugs do I get?

hey. Has anyone ran nitrous on their 128. I am running a 90 shot wet kit on mine. I keep burning spark plugs. Does anybody have any idea of what brand and model spark plugs work well on the 128i

I do believe you are required to post a video of this car raping a 135i.

You'll need to get a step colder of a plug. You should be able to look on the manf website and find that.

I'm not familiar with this site. Can you post the link for me please. Or do you have any brand and models you know of?

Gap is fine. The problem I have is that while running the nitrous the plugs get too hot and the plug burns out. So I need ones that run one step colder to help with the heat. however I can't find a set that is not oem (want race quality) and that works with my 128i. Still looking... 😕

Does anyone know if the 135i plugs run 1 step colder since they are turbo. And if so... anyone know of any better plugs for them and if they would work for my 128i

As far as plugs and nitrous goes there are a few things. One the gap needs to be closed to around .035. Second is a copper plug. Platinum plugs tend to over heat more. Third is for 100 shot which is what your 90 shot would be considered. You need to be plus two colder on the plugs. If you had a 50 shot it would be one colder. All three of these need to be done to fix your plug problem with nitrous. I do not know for the 128i what plug number you need. My susgestion would be to call holly, or summit racing. I'm sure they can find the correct plugs for you.

Lol that is funny. I called summit and the guy told me the same thing. I ordered the 2309 plugs this morning. They are only 1 step colder. I went that way cause I don't want to have mis fire issues while in idle cause they run to cold. I appriciate the help. I will let you all know how they work after I install them.

Glad you got what you needed. Did he also suggest the gap at .035. As this is part of the help.

You know I didn't ask that. I Wil have to look that up and figure that out before I install them. Not questioning your knowledge at all, (you seem to know what your talking about lol) but what makes you think that is the right gap. Or where did you find that?

Pretty much a standard gap when your running nitrous. Wide gaps have two problems. One the ground electrode can get hot enough to glow, even with the colder plug. Second, I'm told that it can blow the spark out and having an intermittent miss. I'm thinking that the bmw will not have a problem with spark and the normal gap and the extra pressure in the cylinder. The over heating of the ground electrode very well could happen.

Ok thanks. I am going to do some more research and find out the best gap. If anyone else has any knowledge on the recommended gap with nitrous, please feel free to post! Haha
