Any difference below between 128i m sport and 135i front bumper?
Hey guys! I'm looking to buy a front lip soon and I own a 125i (which I believe is basically identical to the 128i except for some engine differences). However the lip is made for the '135i'.
Does anyone know if the m sport bumper on the 125/8i has the exact same holes or holes used for mounting as the 135i bumper? Just wanted to confirm. If someone could post a picture of the bottom of the front bumper on a 135i it would be greatly appreciated. I could then compare it to the bottom of mine. |

Yeah, I'm guessing it'd fit, I'm just worried since the lip I'm getting will require using the original holes of the 135i. So was wondering if the 125/8i bumper have the same holes.

I think he means where the bumper lines up with the underbody panel.

Oh really? That's not good =/ I should try get the installation instructions off them first and see if I have the mounting holes necessary. I don't want to drill holes myself..
Thanks for the insight so far! |

Jon. Sorry I didn't search for this in the FIRST place!! I remember I asked the same thing awhile back but didn't pull the trigger. Here is a link that will help you!
Scroll down to the 135 bumper part. These guys retrofitted a lot of things on a 128. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=321802

No need to be sorry ! Thank you for searching that thread. It seems I'm going to do some extra researching before I pull the trigger on the bumper after all, thank you so much! Might have bought a product that won't fit on my car haha
EDIT: Did some further research and thought I'd post up results in case people also wanted to know about this. The bumper is in fact the same. For 135i: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...80&hg=51&fg=15 For 125i (and hence probably 128i but you can double check on the website): http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...35&hg=51&fg=15 However, the underhood shield on the other hand... seems to be the same. They do have the same part number: 135i: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...95&hg=51&fg=75 125i: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...95&hg=51&fg=75 But they have different numbers of bolts and stuff listed which I found weird, I think I'll just ignore and just trust the part numbers being the same haha. And they have this option called "skid plate national version". I have no idea what this is but nonetheless they also match in part numbers too. Which should mean that my lip will fit and bolt on fine ! Last edited by Jon.; 04-26-2011 at 11:09 AM.. |

Jon, Im curious to know if you pulled the trigger and replaced your original 128i bumper? If so, how much did everything cost if you dont mind sharing. Im actually looking into replacing my stock bumper as well

I think it's 100% bolt on with original parts. I'm doing rear swap and looks to be the same

Hey man, I actually already have the m sports bumper on my car, I was wondering if the m sport bumper for the 128i (with the fogs) is the same as the 135i one. So I can't really help you. But if you look around, I think in the DIY section I'm pretty sure there was one person who replaced his 128i bumper with the m sport one, you can PM him to ask whether it was 100% bolt on or not.
