What to use on interior plastics.....
Since new, I have not used anything on my interior plastics other than a damp microfiber towel to wipe off dust.
However, would like to use something on the plastics to protect from occasional scuffs or rubs but hate the greasy look of armor all. What product do you recommend that will keep the stock luster while still protecting that I could pick up locally? Thanks guys! Mark M |

Einzett Cockpit Premium FTW!
I wouldn't recommend anything local. Put an order in through detailersdomain and I bet phil has it to you by the weekend.

There are a lot of good options out there. I tend to use the 303 Aerospace Protectant the most. I use it on vinyl, plastic, rubber and most leather surfaces. We have 10% off as well for forum members with the code 10offBMW1.

Yeah the only thing stopping me from trying the einzett (sp) is the lemon smell. I like a nice new car smell. Thats why I also have wonder waffers leather scent!!

Yep, I like 303 over Einszett mainly for the lack of scent, both have a similar matte finish. I also really like Griot's interior stuff, it's one of the few things they sell that isn't massively marked up. I tend to use 303 on tires too, Griots is almost too matte to really even look like you used anything on tires, while 303 and Einszett have at least a little shine.

It does not smell like lemon at all. wtf? It's kinda like new car sent I guess, but subtle not over powering at all. It's inexpensive give it a try. Take a look through some of the detailers work on here, many of them list their products, I've noticed a ton use 1Z cockpit. I've used it for a couple years now, never found anything like it. I've used 303 but pref 1Z.

Whatever you want to call it, and Einszett calls it a 'light, fresh, citrus scent', it's got a smell. Plenty of professional detailers use both, there's very little difference, and you can't go wrong with either. Just because some of us prefer one over another doesn't mean anyone is saying the other is not a very good product. One reason I personally prefer 303 is that it's easier to find larger quantities than half a liter.

One more point for Cockpit.....you can use it on the rug/mats if you get a spot. I had a couple of weird white line marks on my black floor mat, no idea what it was. It wouldn't brush off though. I took some Cockpit and a MF cloth and it easily came off.
303 may do this too, I'm not sure. But just wanted to put that note in.
