True. Another way to think about it is "torque at the rear wheel" which is engine torque times gear ratio. At a given speed that's all that makes the car accelerate, how hard you're twisting the wheels.

Looks and sounds good. Just got a 128i so I'm looking at mods and you've helped me with some decisions with it, thanks.

135i exhaust as just muffler should be a very good result. Crackles? Maybe if resonator is removed. Otherwise it will be muffled

I have notable overrun crackles with stock resonator in place.

So that's good, a muffler change really does wake up the character
