Sydneys best dealer

Okay this is probably not going to work for a bunch of reasons, mostly personal preference - who do you rate as the best Sydney dealer.

I was wondering if BMWA rate there dealerships based on the feedback they get from sales.

Also we are looking to get a New X5 LCI and are not impressed with a certain chats wood dealer - can anyone recommend the brook vale dealer ?

I've heard good things about Trivett ^^

From my personal experience, i'd advise against Col Crawford (Brookvale)..

If you're not afraid of a drive to Newcastle and want a GREAT deal and fantastic service, drop me a PM and i'll give you the Sales Manager's details at Kloster. I've sent a couple of people up there to him and they also came back saying he's absolutely fantastic. Not to mention the deal i got

From what i've heard, BMW Sydney are a mixed bunch.

Thanks - Newcastle dealer gets quite a few on-site and off site recommendation , but I am not that keen on driving that far. But if i can save a few pennies then all the better i guess.

Arthur at Kloster BMW Newcastle has been the sales manager since before I bought an M3 in 1999. Talk to Roxy 02 4922 0590.

Not sure why everyone holds Trivett with such high praise... when I went to buy my car their service was so horrendous I literally walked out the door.

"Sorry sir, this is BMW, we don't negotiate prices." WTF? Though about giving him a hiding for such a condescending comment but thought better of it and just turned away. My dad used to get his X5 serviced there too until they literally FORGOT to fill in his service booklet twice. Caused some issues when the car was brought back for the full circle program.

It's only around 400m from where I work, but needless to say I don't approach with with a 10km pole.

If you don't mind the trip Worthington Gosford is awesome - all three of the cars in our family were purchased there. The rural location really gives everyone a relaxed temperament - excellent service with casual professionalism. What's more is that they hold MASSIVE amounts of floor stock so there's always something going for cheap.

I really like Arthur. He handled my car from start to finish and did a fantastic job. Organised a time on the Saturday that suited me for pickup and even though i got there a little late, he didn't mind at all.

He could tell I just wanted to get in the car and go, so after showing me the main features he told me he knew i wanted to go and released me.

The one thing i LOVE about Kloster is the follow-up service. I had numerous calls the following week from Arthur and Wayne Sharpe (General Manager) to make sure everything was going well, plus the offer of a 2,000km free checkup on the car.

On top of this, I had a couple of more technical questions which Arthur put me through to their service department for right away who were very good with their answers.

I really couldn't rate Kloster higher - I still keep in touch with Arthur and no doubt if purchasing another BMW at lease end, will be going through Arthur/Wayne again.

I have had 3 BMWs and a Mini from BMW Sydney. I used to deal with Michael Dangar before he moved to Hong Kong years ago. He was their Special Vehicle Sales Manager and for an English guy who was into Bow Ties he was a very good guy. Was a Lotus test driver when he was a much younger lad.

The last car I dealt with Simon Townsend and he has been excellent. A real car guy instead of a car salesman and I am sure you know what I mean

I went with Sylvania after being introduced to them by Zuzu - I found them very good to deal with. Kept me informed every step of the way, no hickups with the car etc

Col Crawford were hopeless when I tried dealing with them. Very disorganised, not customer focused.

Im not surprised...especially if you dealt with a rather large figured women. I have talked to the chaps at worthington and they are great, although it might be a bit of a hassle to get to them. They did however offer a good deal when i was looking to buy my 335, but BMW Sydney matched them so i did the dirty on them. From now on i am most likely to buy from them.

This makes 3 - we all know the pitfalls of a certain Chatswood dealer, kept us waiting on a deal for over 4hrs and NO offer of lunch even though we had a 4yrold and it was between 10-2pm.

Then complained becuase i didnt smile at pickup ! through my reserach and a few weeks on this forum (thanks Guys) i learnt more about the car than they could ever explain, she didn't even know the DCT was an available option !!!

Piss Poor for a premium brand, Previously i owned a Merc and they have fantastic cusotmer servce , but daggy performance on their stock cars.

Yep Arthur is gold. I grew up in Newcastle and my father knows Peter who used to own the Kloster Group (he sold his interests a few years ago). I bought an X5 from them a month ago. A friend of mine bought a 125 vert last month. I always visit there when I want to buy a new BMW.

Ha!!! That's who I got... it's a small world...

Knew bugger all about the car, but was quick to price up my 1'er diesel to over $90K (after corporate discount).

Absolutely nucking futs...

Forget about North Shore BMW, terrible communication about the progress of my order, only communication was when they were hassling me to do the deal, no after sales communication whatsoever, take your business elsewhere.

I have heard really mixed reviews about them. I've only talked to them once - about floor mats. They seemed pretty polite and courteous though.

Still pitching in for Kloster in Newcastle. It's definitely worth it!!!

I think it very much depends on the people you deal with at the dealership. A good sales person can make all the difference to your experience, so to that end the dealership is almost irrelevant.

When my sales person was the assistant sales manager however, it makes you wonder whether it is more systemic...
