A/C problem

My 2011 135i AC only gets cold on the passenger side vents and only puts out cabin temp on the drivers side vents.
Does not matter if it's in Max mode or both sides set to 60.
Any ideas???
Not due to visit the dealer for a few months.

Classic BMW symptom of low refrigerant. Have the system checked for leaks and recharged under warranty.

Are you getting a chemical smell in the cabin? Also another symptom of a coolant leak. I've had my evaporator replaced twice already. So it is an issue. Especially here in Phoenix.

Thanks everyone, it was just low on R-134a and thanks to the Wal-Mart which sells R-134a I was able to fix my 2011 BMW myself for $10.00.

Doesn't it make you wonder where the leak is? If it is on the suction side and the pressure drops too low you might be introducing moisture into the system. I would suggest mentioning the problem at your next service, even if it isn't acting up.

If you ahve a 2011 you shouldn't be having ac problem...dealer visit not schedule for a few months or not I'd be calling and dropping off my car to get repaired. It shoulda cost you zero dollars. You shouldn't be running low on ac coolant in less than 2 years unless there's a serious issue with the system.

+1

Need to get into the dealer ASAP and let them test/run dye through the system.

In addition, if still under warranty (?) circumventing the repair process (self repairs, etc) can cause you headaches down the road---place the responsibility of repairing your car on the manufacturer during the warranty period.

It is due for service in 3K miles and at that time I will mention it to the service adviser.

BTW, it's a lease so I really don't care like I should if you know what I mean.
