Could, but wouldn't. Would rather have an Exige for that money.

I'd gladly pay $45k for a 1M/M1. I actually like keeping my car stock and enjoying it for what it is ( most of the time :-) ). Oh, and actually being able to last through a 30 minute session on the track @ 95 degree weather with an oil temp just a hair above the 210 mark is priceless ( especially when the 335 had to leave the session early because of technical issues ).

Not a chance. Not worth it IMO.

Yes but inside every car is also the sole [as a matter of speaking] of the people who made it, and brought it to market. I like the sig, just thought I would add that to the thought, just for the moment.

If the M1 does actually make it to the marketplace, I'd say that $49K is priced just about right. I paid around $37k for mine two years ago(Tax,tag, title, etc. just under $40K). If I had gotten an M3, it would have probably been around $70k the way I would have optioned it.. $50K is price right between the two, so I would say that's right where BMW will price it. Take a $40k 135i, add ten grand for "M" tuning, and you have the M1.

Also, I was reading some thread earlier about naming the M1. BMW would be insane to name it anything else just for consistency sake with the rest of the M line. The original M1 was not mass produced. To have loyalty to that doesn't make business sense to me. The new "Z" has an insane name even though I love the car. "Z4 sdrive35is" That's crazy.......

$62K in USd is what I see most M3 sell for thru the Military Sales Program. The highest price I have seen for them new is $68K! With zero miles. Btw... lostest one was $58K!

Who wants one? lol :")

If I recall, my '88 M3 had a sticker price of $34,500. $50,000 for a current 1M would be a bargain.

I would pay up to $1,000 for a good diff. The other items should be optional on the 135i. Nothing in the M catalog excites me very much.

I'm weary of super-complicated performance cars.
I am pretty sure the 135i has hydraulic power steering as standard

Now that we know the price of a base 1M, this threads prediction was not far off.
