[Feeler] 135i Track Pack (suspension, Widebody, 285 width tires+Apex Wheels)
Hey all, I bought another track car... well... 2 of them, and it's time to decommission the BMW for track use. So what's going to be for sale? Package
Condition of parts
In total, it's about 8.5k worth of parts (new) to make the car square with the widest possible rubber without modifying the metal of the car. The handling with the suspension and after having it balanced is beyond what you think the car capable of. Feeler out at: $5000 I'll add pics to this tread in the coming days. Local pickup preferred (95014), but would consider shipping at buyers expense and with some understanding of how much of a PITA it is to ship even tires. Note that these parts aren't immediately available. I estimate 3 weeks to convert my car back to stock on weekends. Reply to thread or PM if interested. Really interested in keeping the kit together as it's all set up and balanced properly.
I'm estimating shipping costs: Wheels/tires - $300+ Body kit - $500 (it's huge, will probably have to ship freight) Suspension - $100 If I ship the whole thing freight it probably comes in around $500 (same as shipping just the body kit). Going to leave this thread up a week and see where we get to before replying to all PM's. |

Setup looks like this:
Condition of the suspension: How much wider the car gets. And why not, I'll throw in the tow hook and license plate mount. And here's why I'm selling the kit: |

Interested and local-ish (I work in cupertino, no shipping), any rubbing with your setup? How were the street manners with the tc kleins? Also, dig the replacement track toys

At full lock the front tires rub the front or back of the fender well depending on how much you tuck the rubber in on the install. In the rear it depends on your specific car and alignment. Alignment needed for this setup to work: F: Max neg camber (around -3.5 or more). Caster is set on the camber plates and is greater than stock (helps keep car straight at speed). Toe at 0. R: -1.5 to -1.8 deg camber, Toe <0.5 deg total. If you have too much toe, you'll rub the front inner edge of the tires on the inside of the fender well. One fun rubbing incident was when I first installed this kit. I modified the rear suspension to include the dinan upper shock mounts rather than the OEM ones this is set up for. An hour into lapping at Laguna Seca I could no longer refuel because in corners I loaded the suspension enough to rub straight through the fuel filler pipe. Had to call it quits when I tried refueling and was pouring gas straight onto the ground. Pushed the car away from the gas pump and emergency wrapped it with silicone tape during my last session. Luckily I was able to refuel and get home, but that learned me an important lesson. Don't modify tuned setups. The kit will be sold with the OEM mounts. They prevent the fuel filler pipe issue, but you shouldn't drop the ride too low. As far as the suspension's street manners, I significantly prefer it over stock. The key is to set the shocks very soft and it's totally street-able. |
