I usually shift at 6500 if im running the car hard. As everyone mentioned, thats about all you get on the N54/N55. Close to 18,000 miles now. That being said, I bought her to drive her. And I ride her hard a few times a day if I can. Motors are meant to be run. What in the world would you buy a two door coupe/vert BMW to drive slow for? Though I am guilty of putting the top down and slow cruising with a huge grin when its pretty and about 75 outside. I run a JB4 on mine too and some goodies, so more boost as well. It's an inline 6, she's a well balanced tank. Let that baby spin!
