New Lux 180

So after having my driver side angel eyes out for a couple of months and having literally everybody that I know feel the need to point it out to me I finally jumped on board the Lux train.

I got the new 180 lights that just came out all of four days ago. The install took maybe only 15 minutes. They look absolutely fantastic and I cannot commend Lux enough for such a quality product.

This is middle of the day but at night it's like having a whole extra set of headlights. I love them

Did anyone notice the shitty wire insulation BMW used from the auto leveler to the H8 connector tho? I had to improvise and reword the drivers side. Pain in my ass but I wasn't about to open the assembly and stuff

Really 15 minutes? Every other post I read on these say it's somewhat a PITA to install. That's honestly what is keeping me from buying them.

Easy or not, be very careful reinstalling the cover!

One of the more popular topics is "new angel eyes and now headlight errors" after a hard rain or car wash. Much as I hate to say it this falls into the "ask me how I know" category...

Yes these are perfectly legal and will appear as a nice bright white color and not blue at all.

Not a PITA at all... Literally took me 15 minutes. Passenger side is a breeze, maybe 5 minutes. Then spent 10 minutes on the Drivers side only because I had to remove the air intake to get to the light housing with my meaty hands. LOL.

I suspect the job is easier on a 128 without the vac cans behind the passenger light...

Nah.. Think it is a longer install on the 28. still have to remove the entire intake housing. I don't think you have to do that for the N54 do you?

Removing the air box takes like 15 minutes at most.

I just installed these myself. I just purchased my 135is with 33k miles, so I don't know the full history of the car. While working around the headlights though, I found this connection unplugged on the passenger side. I have no clue where it goes, and I have no CELs, or lights on the dash indicating an issue. Anyone know what this is? Should I be concerned?

That's the plug to your turbo. If you think the car was already fast, just wait until you plug that in.

I'm kidding. I have no clue. If it's part of a standard harness and not needed, you'd think it would have a cover on it.

I remember reading about another 135is owner finding an unplugged connection in the engine bay. It has to do with PPK2 and the old fan and wiring.

It's talked about here ---->>>> http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...t#post19346618

Thanks so much! I was looking at it and the fuse box, and it was fastened by zip ties, I was thinking it was some wild car audio wiring left behind or something. Now I can rest easy haha.
