This is how to properly record exhaust sound

In my never-ending quest to learn about 135i N55 aural capabilities I have watched every video that features this particular engine. Many different exhausts, many (mostly failed) attempts to capture the sound.
But this one is by far the best sounding clip, not only because of the noise the pictured setup makes, but also because of the way it has been recorded.
This is supposed to be by a German tuning house BBM.
Their current catalogue lists couple of components for the 135i but no muffler.
I would love to find out what is the configuration in this video as no details are in the description.
But please, listen to this and tell me this doesn't sound just perfect....
