I am bringing a friend with an M3 and another one might come that has an Evo 6. I don't think that thing can cruise at 160k so I'll have to leave Friday morning to get to the hotel by a decent time Friday afternoon.

Ok I found one hotel so far and it's probably a little more than some of you might want to pay, it's in Koln city, you can find it on hotels.com. It's about 90€ a night and the hotel is an hour from the Ring and 40 minutes from Manhart Racing. Let me know what you think. I will continue looking for hotels as well.

Ok I think I have a better deal. Best western in Leverkusen... 30 minutes from Manhart...an hour and ten minutes from the Ring which doesn't really matter cause we are going to Manhart first anyhow. It's $68 a night, free wifi and free breakfast buffet. I think this is the most solid deal.

Also I need a no bullshit list of people who are coming to Manhart so I can tell them the final number.

There's another one in Solingen that's 20 minutes from Manhart, free breakfast, wifi and parking. $40 a night.

I'll be at the Ring on Saturday, but no Manhart trip for me. It would be almost 4 1/2 hours... too much for a morning trip after a week of work.

Well like Dave said, I don't think we are going to get anywhere close to the ring on that weekend. I got that "you are eff'ing crazy" look multiple times today when I asked if 7-10 rooms were available for next weekend. They all said "thats old-timer race weekend" we've been booked up for weeks.

There is a place here in Wittlich (< 45 min from ring) which is 80 euro a night for a single, 135 for a double with Wi-Fi and breakfast included. There should be no problem with parking. It is a nice place but I I think I can do better here in town so I'll do some more checking. Is anybody interested in doing some go karts here in Wittlich or at the ring? If you guys are interested I'll see if I can get a discount or what the price would be.

Here's the thing to remember Wade. It doesn't really matter how far the hotel is from the ring, we aren't going from the hotel to the ring we're going from the hotel to Manhart Racing, which is 1.5 hours from the ring.

In THAT case... Manhart Racing is in Wuppertal. They list their address as:

WHAT if we stayed at our favorite blue hotel? Motel-One chain. Only 59 euros per night! I think I would drive up Friday, stay there for one night. Then we go to Manhart and then to the Ring. We would still need to find a place near the Ring for Saturday night though.

that sounds like a grand idea, after the ring we might be able to invade spangdahelm's lodging. we would have to call friday to get the room for saturday but on the upside its only $39 and there is a gas station on base.

side trip looks good to me and is only 30 minutes from Manhart. I think one of the two hotels i mentioned earlier would be best for the first night since that puts us close to Manhart so we dont have to get up too early and breakfast is FREE. the best western looked like it might be the best deal based on Hotels.com

So did we decide where we want to get rooms, it sounds like everybody wants to be closer to Manhart right? If not I checked a couple of other places in town and they are running in the 50-60 euro range for singles and 90 ish for doubles. For that price the rooms might not be spectacular but are probably still decent.
