Hows your DCT holding up?
I sold my 2011 135i about a year ago now with 45,000 ish miles on it. I havent been on the forum for a while, and have been curious lately about the dual clutch cars. Maybe someday I will get back into one...
Guys with higher miles, how has it been treating you? Still solid shifts? Has it needed any service? Any input is appreciated, thanks! -Dan |

I have a DCT but only about 6500 miles on mine so far. I absolutely love the shifting, it truly acts as a stick shift car with a very intuitive automated clutch. No problems with shifting this far, I did the DCT reboot thing at 1200 miles and have left it alone since.
Hopefully higher mileage people can chime in too.

I sold my 335i DCT with 60k on the clock - no issues. A software update made things smoother and reduced the 'lag' when coasting up to a junction and pulling away before completely stopping

41k miles on my 2011 DCT and no issues.
I do know of another 2011 DCT car here in the UK that has done 88k with no issues as well, and it has done nearly 80k of that mileage running a DMS remap.

My car only has 30,000kms but this includes track days and hard driving and launching, it has also been tuned for a fair bit of that and now has an upgraded turbo. Zero problems.

I only have about 30k miles on my 2011 and no major problems except for one small issue. My morning commute used to begin with a 15-20 minute crawl through traffic down a relatively steep hill. Without fail, the dct would stall after about 5 minutes of driving in stop and go traffic. im guessing it was the combination of the incline and a cold engine.
not really a big deal, just annoying that every morning i would briefly hold up traffic while restarting my car. |

45K here on my DCT. No issues at all other than sometimes I feel like it drives like poop. Stalling, hesitating, rpms can be very erratic and it makes some odd noises occasionally.

I remember one of the reasons i sold mine was because i was afraid of the repair costs on the DCT out of warranty if something were to happen over 50k miles

thanks, didnt realize there was a software fix for that, il talk to my service person. I'm always worried about getting more updates due to the loss of torque i experienced after an earlier update.
