For reference, I got a pretty loaded 2010 135 6mt m-sport with 47k miles still certified for $20k. That's a good deal but hardly impossible if you're willing to look. Mine didn't have idrive which I didn't want and I added aftermarket Pioneer radio with CarPlay and a backup camera for about $1400. Otherwise my car was loaded.

For me it wouldn't be worth it to save $3k and open a big can of worms like a lemon car. That's my $.02.

It matters why it had 8 previous owners as others have suggested. It could also be money problems for at least some of the owners. If you can't make payments, you loose the car. If the same place sold it to people who couldn't afford it several times, it could have a bunch of owners and not be a problem. But cars with issues are best avoided. And 8 prior owners suggests issues - that is why people run from them and the price is low.

So if you can sort out the history, maybe, it would help you if you sell it to know too.
