Congrats 7UP - another BSM owner. I have seen 1 servicing at Brian Jessel, heard of 1 roaming around downtown and you will be the 3rd one around town that I know of. I think there might be a few more than 4 around town but still, I rarely run into 1Ms. 54K miles and still holding MSRP... crazy - US import?

Luca335 - 4C, haven't seen those around either, and I wonder how the drive would compare to an Elise or Elise SC (Exige isn't exactly a fair comparison)
Never driven the Lotus Elise, only Evora, the 4C is very raw.

I would if I had the space back then. I'll have to fill that void with an ACR

Need some advice from you guys about extended warranty. My dealer quote me $3500 to get it certified. Good or not? Technically it only has 1 year left / 160000KM. My 1M got 54K KM.

"The BMW Extended Warranty Plan prolongs your coverage for up to an additional 2 years or 80,000 km beyond the original 4-years or 80,000-km limited new car warranty for total coverage of up to 6 years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first."

I personally don't believe in extended warranty because I do all my work on my cars and I rarely drive them.

BTW, my guy at Autowest called me this morning to tell me a grey M2 was available in the showroom. Went down at around 11 and it was sold. With DCT it came out to $72,390 + tax. Freight and PDI alone was $6k. I looked at all the other 2016 M3 and M4s and they were only $3k. WTF is up with that?

Watch out for those "Richmond Drivers." You are taking your life in your hands. Last year, when I spent a week staying at an airport hotel, mostly hanging around in Kits but also a bit in Richmond, my favorite line was what a bicyclist who was almost run over in Richmond yelled out to the driver, "LEARN TO DRIVE!!!!"

I'm at Auto West now. The M2 was GONE! I'm told it was sold within 2hrs. The buyer just took the car. M2 is selling like hot cakes!

I paid 1995 for PDI back in 2011. On the BMW.ca web site it shows PDI 2145. They are charging the same for M3/4. I understand if they charge 2995. 6K is a scam!

Yep, that PDI/Freight was what I noticed - it says 6,7,M and at $6K, how many hours do the tech spent on the car? That's why I was able to sit in every other M car but the M2 at the auto show because they expect to sell every single one of them at a premium

Even a $3K PDI/Freight for M3/M4 is excessive... I guess that's how the dealer make their margins

I would do my own "Extended Warranty" by saving up for the HPFP and potentially the waste gate. The water pump tends to go around 70-80K but if you don't drive much on it, the years you get are wasted. Extended warranty might pay for itself only if you drive excessive amount of mileage (but not years) - things only go bad when you wear them out. I'm just a tad below 40K KM right for a car in its 5th year - so at that rate, I will be at 80K KM by its 10th year. The wastegate one seems to be nasty because the part number doesn't match, 335is / Z4 s35 / 1M aren't covered by the extended warranty on the turbos.

I suppose they were smart and never took deposit so whatever car comes they get to sell at any markup they feel like, knowing that we have enough population in Richmond to just take the car the minute it's off the transport truck?
