N55 FBO/meth, e85, ISO dyno

As the title says, hooked up the ISO and did a dyno run. So mods are as follows:

JB4 ISO
BMS intake
BMS downpipe
ER chargepipe
ER FMIC
BMS meth with CM10 and 50/50 boost juice running 65 add
About 5ish gallons of e85 with 93
No flex fuel wires yet, havent put them on

So attached is my best run overlayed with a stock map run. Pretty good numbers, but not the almost 400 I was wanting on HP. Will send the log in to Terry but seems clean to me.

And this is an overlay with my buddy who is FBO/meth with an e85 mix on his N54. Interesting to see that the 2 are neck and neck until the little twin scroll runs out of breath.

Im not gunna lie with that setup i would be expecting closer to 400 whp, but i dont know the specifics of your dyno or the circumstances that governed the pull. The log looks good, maybe a touch lean but All in all the car seems quite happy. Good numbers either way, those are strong wtq figures.

What map are you running?

I think you're way overdoing the capabilities of the JB4 having both E85 and Meth... With the setup you have, a custom flash tune would probably net you a huge power increase. I highly doubt the JB can take advantage of the fact that you are using two different agents to increase timing. Honestly with that much E85, the meth injection is almost useless with the way you are tuned. You're ignition advance could use some cleaning up for sure.

Not to mention you are running WAYYY lean in the beginning of that run and relatively lean the whole run compared to what I'd like to see with that much E85. It looks like you're over 12.5:1 the whole time.

Nice graph on the dyno, but your ignition timing looks wonky...

Results look solid. Get the flex fuel wires installed and you'll richen the tip in up a bit. It's mapped to around 14.5:1 down low. Timing curve looks normal for an N55. There is more peak power in there if you want to raise the boost up and reduce the water in your meth mix. With a stronger meth mix (less water) you'll see timing come up a bit in the 5000rpm range too.

Realistically on the dyno at least you could make the same power with an E50 mix and the flex fuel wires without meth. But on the road the meth will keep IAT down and does help performance vs. E85 alone.

OP: So when you say stock map - am I correct in understanding that the curves shown are for your car with all the mods and with meth and the e-85 mix - but on a stock JB map? I ask because the base line tq curve looks very much like mine with the PPK 1 and PE. I have about 20 more HP though. Never seen a stock N55 generate that much tq so I assumed it was with the other mods - but wanted to confirm - thanks.

Am I seeing correct when I read that you put just baseline FBO with no meth and no E85 down at 275?

Correct sort of. Meth won't flow on stock map so it is FBO minus map 3 and meth. So that's power with FMIC, intake, and DP plus e85

I was figuring if I switched to the ISO board, added an FMIC and CP (which I know the CP) won't do anything, and run 102 oct or E85, I could push close to 400. Something doesn't seem to fit to me, but then again, I could be an idiot and totally wrong.

My run you are looking at for 275 is map 0. Basically no tune at all. You are talking about map 2 which is a higher than stock map. My map 7 run earlier in the year was 369/432 on map 7 with no meth and no ISO but same FBO mods. Hope that helps

Soooo youre saying that adding meth and E85 and ISO you gained 4whp and lost 8wtq?

Id definitely say something isnt right....especially when i look at the thread with the E85 tune + DCI only dyno...

This is slightly off-topic, I apologize, but what exactly is the JB4 ISO? I know of the G5 upgrade board, and of the complementary flash done via Cobb AP, but what is ISO?

ISO is the new, steadier map for the N55 JB4. Pretty awesome from what I have seen so far. You can go to N54tech.com and read all about it.

Yeah, I'm with FOA on this. Just trying to get all the facts.

Even with what you are saying, I don't have an FMIC, and Map 2 added 75RWHP? That's either very impressive, and makes me want to buy an FMIC and meth ASAP, or something else.

Could be different dyno reads, but we were both on Dynojet. Not sure what could be THAT different.

No, gained 4 whp and 8 wtq. Keep in mind the other was on map 7 with e85. I was only running a 65 add with 50/50 meth mix on this run. My next visit will be 80 add and 90% meth mix to try and max it out. May go MS109 too just to see if 400 can be toppled.

Let me break it down:

Run earlier this summer was FBO, e85, no meth, map 7: 369/432
Run last week FBO, e85, no meth, map 0 (no tune/baseline): 275/332
Run last week FBO, e85, map 3, 65 add on meth with 50/50 boost juice: 373/440

I think 400 could be topped with where you are now, you just need a custom tune to do so! Adding meth to your system did nothing because your tune isn't made for all the tinkering you've done.

considering your baseline is 275 those are good numbers..
I think map 0 on the bms car was around 290 or so..
