Oil in intake manifold
Recently my starter motor blew out. While I had the intake manifold off I noticed oil inside the manifold and around the gaskets. Where is this coming from?
I'm about to put the manifold back on now. Any swift advice is appreciated Last edited by Suhb; 01-13-2016 at 07:58 PM.. |

Crankcase ventilation system (PCV valve) - it feeds back into the intake tract. Much worse in the turbo engines. Nothing to be too concerned about.

Good to know. Coincidentally, I broke the crankcase ventilation hose last night. For anyone looking to take off the intake manifold, be careful, this hose is FRAGILE.

Part #14? That's what I broke and ordered another one of. My understanding is that the PCV valve is built into the valve cover. Last edited by Suhb; 01-14-2016 at 04:00 PM.. |
