Blew my N55 engine

Hey all
short sad story, my 2013 n55 dct engine blew and the main damage was the rod bearings, crankshaft is bent, the engine is toasted. so now I need a new engine. My engine was stock no bolt ons no nothing. Now I need opinions.

Plan A:
find a N55 engine and put full bolt ons (which idk what to put together yet) and maybe a bigger turbo

Plan B:
find a N55 engine and put full bolt ons and leave the turbo

Plan C:
Find a N54 and manual swap it with bolt ons and bigger turbo

All of this while swapping a full 1M body including quarter panels etc...

It's my daily driver and I would go to the track once a month. I'm looking to have a reliable build that's around the 500ish mark.

I need help with bolt on list and with the decision

My suggestion is not to go down this path with your daily driver. You need dependable transportation before you start modifying the car and hitting the track. I've daily driven my 4th gen Trans AM and a 5th gen Camaro SS while I was doing Time Trials and they're going to break. My 135i is sitting right now because of a damaged rod bearing from an Event at Sebring in August but I have a truck as a driver so no harm. I'm going to put rod bearings in it over the Christmas break and hope it holds together.

I agree with this but I don’t think that’s what the OP wanted to hear out of the options mentioned.

I would go with option A, so that you do have a fun daily you could still maybe take to the track. However, as Jeff said, absolutely consider a second car if things were to go south again.

Option A
Engine was stock? How many miles on it? We’re you street racing on the way home or something?

I'd go option A, but if you intend to track it, personally I'd want an oiling solution to prevent oil starvation on hard corners and another spun bearing, before any tracking. I haven't looked into those options much as I don't intend to track, but start researching m2 or s55 oil plans and/or oil sump options.

Sorry for your loss.
My suggestion is that you should immediately get a stock N55 to replace your stock N55. With time you can plan modifications. Your current plan sounds to me like a recipe for a half assembled project car, not a daily.

Can you add to the original what was the scenario when the engine blew?
stock vs mods, getting groceries vs top speed runs,

Don't overlook "Plan D":

Put an LS in it

My engine blew after I money shifted my n55. 10k later and a few months later I got my car back. I did this through an independent shop. The original engine had 90kish miles and the new sourced motor was at 70kish miles. My experience so far is supprisingly good and oil leaks from ofhg. If I could go through this all again/ after learning what I have about these cars and engines… I would have started with getting a daily that I can replace my hobbies with. Honda fits have huge track and daily capability with minimal entry/ upkeep cost. Once I have rebounded on the financial side, sourcing a rear impacted e92 m3. For track I think the s65 would be a perfect engine. The swap is relatively easy and has pleanty of sources on it. There is also very minimal costom work need to complete it. Even now, what the car has gone through this is still my goal. And with the knowledge of doing the swap and matenance, I would feel very confident on track. And then figure out a bore out for more power or a hybrid system like mountain pass performance did with their z. But that is way down the line.
