Anyone mighty tempted to make some purchases lately with the extremely high dollar? I certainly am... If anyone in Brisbane is looking to get anything and want to share shipping let me know!

Ack, don't tempt me. I told myself the suspension mods I just did would be it for a while, but with the dollar the way it is against the US peso...

Wow! I can't believe the AUD is this high. It's the highest I've ever seen it. I spent close to 1k in some parts yesterday but paypal always gives me a slightly lesser exchange rate!

I am about to order some new rubber from tirerack. With the current exchange rate it works out to be a very good price.

Grab yourself a sway bar, BBK, it's worth it IMO.

A BMW Performance exhaust has been on my wish list for a while... it'll probably stay there too at the moment.

Maybe I should drop hints about a xmas present to Ms Mattyv...

Has anyone bought a few items over $1k at a time before?

Trying to work out if it would be cheaper to buy a few things and get them shipped together (and pay customs), or buy them seperately (and pay more shipping)...

Lol it's nothing too exciting... Would love a FMIC or downpipes myself though!

Don't do it Richard. I bought 2 sets of RE-11's from Tirerack to save costs on shipping and the rubber cost me over $2k and I got stung big time in govt fees!

So is it better to keep each shipment below AUD$1,000 in order to avoid customs? That means I should ship my tyres separately rather than all 4 at the same time.

Sounds good Orlin. I'll have to read up on Wavetrack though as I know nothing of them.

Yes, pretty much. It also depends how much you are over as well because it calculated on the value of your shipment. Basically, if it's over by a lot be prepared to pay a lot extra!

Yeah, but I think there is refundable deposits to be paid and you need to ship parts back etc... But I think that might be cause they aren't all too sure what diffs 135i's have. Too much hassle.

Where should I be looking for a good sway bar? I know from my WRX experience that they are a super modification. Rear only or front as well?

Craig, I think the consensus is to go front first, or both a same time?

Next time we catch up you can sample mine if you want. I bought all my suspension mods through Andrew@SouthernBM and would recommend him highly.

I have H&R sways front and rear.

I am not exactly sure how it works but there is some info over at the sales section for anyone who wants to have a read. It is all explained over there, link is below.

A popular way to go seems to be to swap out our stock 19mm front sways for the 28mm one from the E92 M3. Of course, you also want to get the bushings and brackets too. Front is more urgent as it does a lot to dial out the understeer - however you should follow with more extensive suspension mods after.

The OEM front sway bar in the 135i M Sport is actually 26.5mm which is exactly the same thickness as the E90/E92 M3 front sway bar. However, the 135i front sway bar has a kink in it in the middle and the E90/E92 M3 front sway does not.

I chose the E93 M3 front sway bar which is 28mm but unlike the E90/E92 it has a kink in it. I don't think there is much between the 2 sway bars but I didn't think there would be as many gains replacing the sway bar with a sway bar of the same size, although it is heavier and stronger - even though it is still hollow.
