Borla Prototype Axle Back Exhaust with Mad Dad Midpipe Dyno Results
The green and blue lines represents the 1M with stock mid-pipe and muffler. Black and red with Mad Dad mip-pipe and Borla prototype muffler. Max gain is about 15 hp and 15+ ft/lb. We can see most of the gains are in the mid to higher rpm range so we know the stock system is not bad in lower rpm with lower exhaust flow, but can be a bottleneck once the flow demand goes up.
Current mods are GIAC Stage 1, AFE Stage 2 closed intake and ER CP. ETC FMIC is next...We will then report back on the gains. Link to video/sound clip here: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=627278 Last edited by HP Autosport; 01-08-2012 at 02:37 PM.. |

By looking at the entire exhaust system it is easy to say that the most restrictive part of the system is the N54 style mid-pies with 2 cats and extra bends.

What's the weight reduction on this axle back compared to stock? Its the first exhaust I've seen on here that looks like it has a good shot at decent weight reduction as well as improvments to sound and flow rate.
Also, can you take a better shot from the underside? Having a hard time understanding the flow path from the one angled pic. Thanks! |

Borla is really going after the elimination of drone, better sound and flow first. I'll have to get a photo for you when the 1M has a chance to go back on the lift again. |
