I am surprised that there was no love for the 1M...

I was hoping for some 1M action in there as well, but it was only a selection of 3 cars in the end I suppose.

Love his 2002!

The 1M is an awesome, mean little sports coupe but nobody in their right mind would put it in the front running for best BMW of all time.

actually LOTS of people think the 1M is in the list of the best BMWs ever made....in fact these days pretty much ANY list of the greatest BMWs ever made has the 1M...in my mind it's in the top 3 with the E30 M3 and 2002 Turbo. I think it's weirder when it's left out of a list actually.

they do praise the 1M in another video. My vote for the best BMW's ever are the 1M and the S54 M coupe, but I'm biased.

These guys love the 1m in their other videos. They usually talk about buy it now.

As an E30 M3 owner tho I have to agree w/ the selection of that car.

Personally I think the E46 M3 Competition Pkg is one of the greatest of all time after the batmobile and e30 M3 Evo

Garage List
2020 BMW M2 CS  [0.00]
2018 Toyota Tacoma  [0.00]
2011 BMW 1M  [10.00]
I'm not surprised the 1M is not in there. It's too new. Everything that they mention are from older eras. In the discussion about the M coupe (Z3) he mentions a bit about 'rogue engineers' doing what they know needed to be done despite the boss' and accountants' ruling. Interesting how similar that is the the story of our 1M's! I bet if they had continued on that subject the 1M may have made a mention.

If you listen at ~12:35 they are talking about BMW's that haven't depreciated (in reference to the Z8 here) and almost mention the 1M...you can hear he gets cut off.

It would be interesting to see if the 1M makes the best of 150 years list. ...might be possible...

The M coupe is something special! I actually love the looks from most angles :-). More important, no better seat of the pants feeling with exceptional cabin acoustics from the exhaust and non-turbo six. But, I agree 1M should be on the list.

It will be one day. It will be remembered as the last of the analog M cars. There is no "comfort" mode like the M2, hydraulic steering, no auto throttle blipping and the last BMW ever offered with only a manual transmission. When manual transmissions are no longer offered and cars steer and park themselves people will look back on the 1M fondly as the end of a generation and as well as the beginning of the turbo M cars.
