Not current data, and it doesnt apply to the this generation vehicle 1 for 1, so yes, I dismiss it. You can hold onto that if you choose.
Attack a spelling error and quitting is often the last line of defense for losing a debate.

I think I shall stir the pot a little. Maybe I should change my tag too! This way forum members will know I put the BMW Power Kit and 313 rims on my car. 135i>135is!!!

A hatch 135 would have been cool but loud. Hatch backs are louder than trunks!

It's not a debate when one person is presenting historical facts and trends while the other is saying "no because I said so". Fortunately the only victim of your decision making abilities is you.

135is is an actual car. Last I checked there never was a 130is.

fortunately i will be changing my car's name to 195is, so there won't be confusion with your 135is.

my logic? because we have a little club we formed.....to those people east of the hudson river, who DD the crap out of their cars----we get to call our cars 195is so we can distinguish from all the other tossers out there!!!

(renaming a car based on what mods it has makes NO SENSE)

LOL why not. I get why the stig rocks the 130is title. Not my thing, but his mods are. I look to his expirience with the mods on his car to shape my modifying scheme.

The nice part is when I get PMs on it and can start people down the path of the DISA manifold and other improvement they weren't aware of.

The 130i is a car that does exist, as you say. The difference between the 130i and the 128i is the DISA manifold and the software to account for it. If he has both, his 128i has become a 130i. Seems like the most accurate way to describe it to me, certainly more honest than 128i!

If you swapped the engine of a 118i to a N52, would it be more accurately badged as a 118i or 125i/128i/130i? The badges have a specific meaning
1 = 1 series
30 = displacement (well, historically. Since BMW went retarded, it means "equivalent to the power of an engine of this displacement")
i = fuel injected gasoline engine

How dense are you? EVERY generation prior has been stiff in this order: sedan without fold through > wagon/hatch (only sold with fold through > sedan with fold through > coupe > vert. Just because numbers are no longer released doesn't mean this doesn't hold true. It's for a simple reason, too-- boxes are inherently stiffer than boards. It's precisely the reason verts have always been extra heavy to have extra bracing to make up for their lack of roofline boxing effect. Wagons and hatches have the most boxing effect, and get the most benefit from it.

Hard to tell if you're being serious in not understanding or intentionally dumb to start and argument...

I don't agree. The best way to describe a car is by what the vin reads from the factory.

I'd rock a 3door hatch

And to the other argument that's going on in this thread. Who cares what some guy in a another state, country, or continent does with his car? I'm all for voicing your opinions on the subject, but it just seems like half you guys are arguing over nothing. I do understand that the STIG can rub people the wrong way with his responses. He comes off smug like with his responses to others posts and can make them feel belittled. That's just the STIG for all I know he's just some guy voicing his opinion on the subject and nothing more. Why can't we all get along!!!

It's still a 128i. No matter what you say/thank/rationalize....it is a 128i!

And once again, I don't portray it as anything but. Everyone on this forum is aware of what my preferred car is. The clearly made up model designation that only exists on this forum is a nod to the recent trend in the 128i section of proper power mods.

Shrug, knock yourself out.

My recent group buy might really ruffle some feathers if the term "130is" got this much of a reaction.

I have a hot hatch and also an E91 RWD Touring, so I naturally love odd ball (by today's standards) vehicles.

Not sure I would opt for the F20 if given the opportunity, but would at least like to have the option of doing so if NA would allow it.

But they think I have no interest in a hatch, plus in their infinite wisdom they know I'm better off with just a 4 banger Xdrive wagon or 3 GT Aztek looking variant.
