MHD update
Hey guys,
I flashed my car using MHD in late feb this year, has been brilliant! Finally turned on my tablet that i used to flash it (Which i only bought for that one sole purpose lol) I noticed there is an update for it. Has anyone flashed the new map recently? I am only on a stage 1 tune, no other mods except exhaust, cp and nov. Is there a big notice and a lot of changes? Thanks guys B |

I can't answer your questions, sorry.
But can you tell me your thoughts on the tune? I've tossing up between this and the JB4. Have you felt a major discernible power increase? |

The new maps just have more options. If you like exhaust burbles you can set it up for that. If you're using off the shelf maps then you just have to install and take logs to see if they are better for you and your car. It only takes 2 minutes to flash and old maps are still available.
If you have a N54 go with the MHD. Way cheaper and the support/development for it is amazing at this time. And yes there is a huge power difference between stock and stage 1. |

Another benefit of MHD is that you can always add a JB4 to the party later on if you decide the extra features are worth it to you.
MHD is a great cost effective way to start tuning & logging, and if you decide to get more advanced mods like meth or just want other features of the JB4 you can use MHD to do back end flashing which is very complimentary to the JB4- the two play very very well together. Regardless- if you're on the fence one way or the other, then start with MHD and grow from there

you can set the aggressiveness and length. If you have a Auto/DCT you can set it on normal drive mode or sport. Pretty nice if you like to be loud. |

Sweet. I think I'll go with MHD then. I'm an iPhone user. Can anyone recommend a cheap android device that will be suitable for this? The flash will literally be the only thing I use it for so the cheaper the better.

A car with nothing but a cone intake and upgraded charge pipe, rear exhaust, which map in mhd does that? I can't see it.
Also that car in the clip probably has a full exhaust yea? |

I like the idea of the exhaust burbles haha but good to know that the old maps are still available Is it easy enough to flash the new map 6.1 then find the original map? |

I assume the exhaust crackles are just coding in the injection of fuel at throttle closure? I'm curious on whether this will damage the cats (front or mid), O2 sensors etc and significantly worsen fuel economy?
Sorry I don't mean to derail the OP's thread..

To answer your original question, yes, there are many improvements from the v5 map you would have flashed to the v6 and newer maps now. The part-throttle is smoother, the boost is a bit lower, but probably no less power due to the extra timing advance possible with the lower boost. Many more undocumented improvements too from what I hear. Absolutely worth doing IMO.
The extra MHD flash-time features also can be cool if they're your thing. The flash-time features and the OTS map version have nothing to do with each other. |

Is it as easy as flashing over the map or do you have to revert back to stock first? |

I got an email back from MHD They said " fuel cut off at deceleration is retarted and timing is retarted too, so a bit of fuel burns in the exhaust section, m4 gts, minis and n55 ppj do it this way from factory, It's fine if you don't over abuse it" |

I like the idea of being able to program the burbles only into Sport/Manual modes and leaving Auto as a stealth mode.
