Launch ctrl 2012 135i DCT

Old question but still a little confused. Do you place the shift lever in M/S or in Manual and select 1st gear? If manual does the trans shift automatically to upper gears?

Yes, set it on M1 (manual mode 1st gear) and it will shift by itself unless you shifted yourself.

1. Come to a dead stop with the car up to operating temperatures
2. Shift Lever to M/S + flick paddle/lever to engage M1
3. Activate Sport button
4. Enter DTC mode (just a press of the button)
5. "floor" brake pedal
6. "floor" gas pedal
7. Flag appears, car revs up to 3500
8. Let go of the brake

Step 2 is the one that is giving me some trouble. I know that you can always flick the paddle and go into Manual mode and that it will revert to auto if no gears are changed for a time. But from what I am guessing is that the lever is in the sport mode and not the manual selection, and by flicking the paddle you put it in manual and the car will change gears through the process. I am also guessing that after you reach the speed/distance that you want by letting off on the throttle the care will convert to auto mode.

Step 2 = move the lever to the left to be on the M/S side.

If you flick paddle on D mode, the M mode will revert back. If you flick the paddle on M/S mode, it should NOT revert and you're stuck in M mode until you shift the lever back to D mode.

The car will keep on shifting by itself (usually takes it all the way to redline). Once you let off the throttle, you're back in M mode.

Thanks for the comments. One day I will find a nice strip to do it.
