ECU tuning from BMW

Had testdrive of a 135i today - BMW salesman surprised me when he said I could get the car with a performance chip that added around 20kw. I know ECU tuning is part of the BMW performance range overseas but thought BMW Oz had said a big fat no to it for our market.

Was also surprised how good the auto gearbox is though I'd still go for a manual.

Getting bored... no word on RS3. Still might keep the S3 and do the APR stage 3 kit but looking around at other cars before I do it. Evo and the 135 are the only sub 100k cars I'm still interested in. Otherwise I'll start looking at the C63 and GTR.

I had a spin in the DMS 335i that was in the motor mag tuner challenge and that was a lot of fun. LSD made a huge difference.

Still came away with the same impression as I did a year ago with the 135. Great daily driver, wonderful engine but not as fun or capable at the limit as the S3. But... with chip, suspension and LSD, the '35i is transformed.

Derek gave me his MK6 GTI to potter about in, you should get one.

Yeah really want to get the GTI. Wished I lived in surburbia. Renting a car park for me is the same as half of a GTI lease for most! As for you, how about a TTRS?

Who was the sales rep? I spoke to them about a different car today (need to replace my X3 with an X5) and would be interested to know that it is actually available as an option. I checked a month ago with BMW Northshore and they said its a no for availability. I had a e92 335 M-Sports and am thinking about buying another one some time next year in dct trans, it would be great if the tune is finally available. Otherwise like you i am going the C63 route.
