135i muffler really does make n52 1 series sound great in almost any combination of resonator and cat deletes. I just wish it was lighter.
For me to get headers, will make me rather sad cuz my OEM header-back exhaust will be put back on. I guess at that point I will look at chopping muffler after resonator or looking for a 135i exhaust to use ( I really like the start up/low revs exhaust flap)

I think your 128 love members just grew by 1 today.
I've had my 128i since 2008, and just rolled 100,000 miles. I have an Injen intake on the way and am heavily leaning towards ordering the Bilstein B12 Prokit (because one of my original stock dampers is spewing oil). since its my daily and I'm on a budget, I doubt I'll get too crazy on the mods. (upgrade as it breaks). I just have to figure out how to get my sway bars, headers, intake manifold and ECU to "break" so I am forced to upgrade them. Anyone else AutoX?

+1 on the Ingen. No immediate need, get a Sway bar instead.

Kgolf is our autoX guru.
Inclined to agree about the Injen, I had one and removed it for a euro box. I believe heat soak was an issue, but i did like the additional intake noise. I love my hotchkis FSB. DISA manifold and a tune will get you a lot more low range power with more power throughout the rev range. Headers are the cherry on top of the cake.

I haven't run an autocross in about 3 years now but I've done several in my 128i convertible with sport package. On my run flats, I was a mid pack performer. There were stock 135is that were significantly faster but they had better tires. I was running in the local BMW club autocross at the BMW performance center track. The fastest car was, several years, a full race mini cooper. But generally the M-cars or heavily modified sedans were fastest. 1 series are definitely competitive as long as you're running against similarly prepared cars.

wayyyy too much. Easy job and they know it, don't let them screw you over. I have a good price of 168ish for a spring install after looking around for a bit. Check midas if there's one in your area.

I read quite a bit about the Injen. Since I'm getting it for roughly the cost of shipping, it was a gamble I was willing to make. My only goal is that during my 55 mile one way highway commute it'll give me 1-2 mpg. if it's worse, the stock setup will go back on and I'm out less than a night at the bar.
I've been running mostly NASA rules for AutoX and I've been pretty mid-pack. Although I feel if I could race a little more often than once or twice a year, I would be a little closer to the top. compared to the STI i used to race, the 128 is a completely different beast, but I will say the 128 is super fun to drive through the course. the one thing I did notice is that the 128 seems to be a little sloppier to control during transitions (especially during slaloms). I'm hoping the Bilstein B12 Prokit will help correct that, although from experience I know that sway bars would probably help more. In the end though, my dampers are currently broken and my sway bars are not. lol. Really wish I could afford to swap the sway bars when I do the springs and dampers, but it's not in the budget right now. what sways are the favorites? eibach? hotchkis?

Hurr durr, didn't even notice you were the one i just sent the injen to! I gotta pay attention to names more on here LOL. I really love how the hotchki's FSB transformed the front end of the car. Virtually no body roll and a much more direct, stiffer feel. I was able to dial my front coil overs a LOT softer(from about 20 clicks all the way down to 5 clicks out from soft) and get a lot more plush ride while keeping nice flat cornering. e93 m3 FSB is a great choice with cost in mind. The hotchki's was a bit pricey albeit worth every penny IMO. The last thing i really want is a helical LSD and possibly a stiffer rear sway to compliment it, which may happen this summer if funds allow it.

on the plus side, it looks like I'm going to be able to order that B12 prokit now. had some funds just free up. I'll probably be watching for good deals on sways in case anyone parts something out, but it wont be any time soon.

Wow When are you installing it? I'm really interested in hearing your opinion on how much this affects the driving characteristics of the car.
