Comfort Access Trunk Issue

So the issue is with the comfort access feature on my trunk lid. It occasionally doesn't work. That is...I press the button by the license plate but the deck lid doesn't release. All of the other comfort access features work fine, just the deck lid fails to work as advertised.

Any ideas? I took it in and they couldn't reproduce it since it is an intermittent issue.

Might need a new watch battery for your keyfob.

Other possibility is there is something wrong with your module. Any chance there's ever been water in your trunk? (On the passenger side area)

It does the same for me. Sometimes if the keys are in your pocket close to your cellphone, it won't work. I just release the handle and then try it again after a second, it usually opens up.

My fob battery is brand new and releasing the button/handle on the trunk and trying again doesn't make it work either.

I will keep tinkering with it until I can reproduce it and then take it in to service I guess...

I have trouble sometimes when the fob is too close to the trunk. I move it a few inches away and it's fine.

I don't actually think it's a comfort access issue, just the generally and occasionally inconsistent trunk handle. I say that because my last 135 didn't have comfort access and 95% of the time when I put my hand in the handle, it would open (don't even need to push the button in there). Once in awhile nothing would happen. On my new one, with comfort access, same thing, once in a blue moon nothing happens. I just take my hand away, put it right back in the handle and it opens. I think it's just one of the weird lil quirks of the car, but think it's more trunk handle sensor thing than comfort access related.

It's not a defect just a "feature". Mine does the same thing and I just replaced my fob battery a few months ago. I'd say CA works on the doors about 90% of the time, but on the trunk it's more like 50%. I usually don't even bother any more, pressing the button to unlock on the fob is easier than standing there for 3 minutes looking like you're trying to break into the trunk.
