Interior Color Combo- Taupe with Alpine White Trim

Just leased a 128i with Jet Black Exterior/Taupe Interior and Alpine White Trim. The BMW interior color configuration tool shows this as a nice interior combo. However, I'm not sure if the white will look too tacky. Does anyone have this interior combo?

Not sure "tacky" is the word, but it seems the kind of thing you'd either like or hate. Not too many folks seem to order it, but those that do like it. I considered it because my car is AW exterior with black interior and it looked kind of cool in the 2012 catalog, but in the end I felt like it would be too strong, in your face, jarring/distracting. so I went with grey poplar.

Pretty much what was said before, it's not for everyone but that's a good thing. I have a Space Gray (SGM)135i Msport w/Red interior, I've had it almost a yr now and I love it!
Just wear the colour with confidence, if you decide to go with it. I'd say do it but that might be just me. You don't see many 1's around, and I have seen a total of none in Gray with Red leather! That means something to me!

It'll grow on you, the fact that you are considering it, says tons!

Do it!

Not exactly what you're asking but - my AW with black interior and AW trim is awesome. I love it.

Actually, even though I really like my grey poplar, with my AW exterior and black interior sometimes I regret not getting the AW trim. It does make a bold statement.

Personally, thinking about that combo, it doesn't sound all that great. Isn't Taupe a beige color? Wouldn't that clash with a bright white? I think it might work for a white exterior car, but black? Eh, not sure about that one either. Just something to think about I guess. To be honest though, I wouldn't put too much weight on my opinion as I am not a Taupe interior fan to begin with no matter what trim is chosen and so I might just not "see" it like you do.

So in conclusion, I probably wasn't much help haha.

Do what ever you want man in the end all that matters is that you like it. I ordered alpine white with coral red interior and the alpine white interior trim. While there are many alpine white coral red combos I havent seen one yet that had white interior trim also. It does make a very bold statement and I am still nervous about my choice. But I didnt want any of the wood trims and I didnt want the msport package (dont like those wheels or steering wheel) so silver was out of the question so I went with white. But I like very bright in your face kinda colors. I'm just hoping it meshes well with the coral red interior. If not I can always wrap it n carbon fiber no hurt or harm. But I think its going to look ok. Now if it could just get here already lol. And BTW I know what you meant by using the word tacky but for the sake of not making it sound cheap we will say "less conventional"

Thanks to everyone for the feedback, very much appreciated. I actually decided to change my AW trim to High Gloss Black about three days after I ordered the car. I like black against the light beige color combo....I think it will look very elegant. I guess I'm not that bold of a person to contrast the black dash and the bright white trim together. In any case........ It arrives in three weeks....seems like I've been waiting forever !

Does anyone have any feedback on leather terracotta/walnut trim vs terracotta/anthracite trim vs black/walnut trim vs black/anthracite trim combos in 135i? Placing the order 2/9/13. I have seen the black/anthracite and like it.

I really don't think the white trim goes that well with taupe, as the white is perhaps too bright against such a soft color. White trim seems to go with red or black leather, but still not quite my cup of tea.

msf,
I think all of those combos go together quite well, but I am partial to the anthracite. I tend to like really dark, almost black wood trim, as they are a good compromise of pure sporty trim (e.g. aluminum or white gloss) and luxurious trim (walnut), while still looking more modern than walnut, and more sophisticated than the gloss trims.

Anthracite looks best if you set it off against a lighter color than black, such as terracotta or oyster (my preferred combo with anthracite).

definitely a love/hate on the AW trim. I'd rather have more contrast in colors against the leather, though. there's nothing wrong with either choice, but i wouldn't have chosen those two together.
