Epic Motorsports Tune

Has anyone looked into this?

http://epicmotorsports.com/ecu-tune-...35-1m-e8x.html

Probably one of the most cost effective tunes on the market. I sent them an email concerning N51 tuning but this seems very promising.

Seems a little vague in terms of N52/51 application, as it appears they are just talking about their N54/55 tune.

Well, yes. But they are VERY well known in the racing community.

Just because they do not have graphs does not mean they are not educated in the market.

Those are really the only threads I've found on them, in regards to BMW's. The second link, the guys dyno does look just a little on the lean side. I have always been told it's better to run a little rich than a little lean.

I plan on throwing up AFR's and a Dyno graph at some point after I get my final tune from Evolve.

I am familiar with them. My point is that when they don't even bother to distinguish the N52 from the N54, it makes them appear disinterested in the platform.

I'm Iceman00 from E46 fanatics - I'd pass and just go with AA.

what does "disable rear o2 sensor monitoring" actually mean? I take it this is not the same thing that the Evolve tune does....

Disable means they turn off the sensor. No annoying dash light, but it will fail plug in OBD2 emissions. If you live in a state that does not perform inspections, you are fine.

Looks like I'll investigate more into AA.

I just want to make sure they can effectively tune the N51 w/and intake & exhaust...and later on Headers.

I don't want a simple canned solution that is a broad tune for N51/52...I want something specifically for the DISA because I need to take advantage of it for autocross. I need the most power I can get

I've wondered the same thing. Why do we get tunes that produce the same results as the N52 with no DISA upgrade? If we have it stock then we should be able to get something more. But, perhaps there are just so few N51s. That always seems to be the root of the problem.

Exactly.

It makes no sense that they can tune a N52 w/DISA but cannot effectively tune a N51 that has a DISA stock.

So what’d you land up doing? Ive got an N51 but not attracted to any one tune imparticular, they all have similar promises. Anyone have any suggestions? Looking at BPC, Epic Motorsports, Tuner/AA tune.

Trying to get most power with the Stage 3 manifold

I'm an N52....but will be using BPC for "canned" tunes for my intake and header swap.

Then I plan to make a trip to them for Milvs, VCG, and a custom dyno tune to wrap everything up.

I could most likely do the Milvs myself, but it gives me an excuse to make the trek to BPC as they are only about 5 hours from me.

As of 2019, always use BPC. They're on the leading edge of tech for us, only other runner up is AA, but they don't support MILVS I think.
