Can a Step trans with JB3 or Dinan Stage2, Vishnu tune handle the hp/tq
Have there been any issues with adding a tune to a 09 135i with Sport package/paddles with the Steptronic transmission handling the extra HP/TQ?? Trying to decide the million dollar question by next week on J3 or Dinan Stage2 chip...i no the differences but it's a very hard decision and want to make sure that the trans can handle the tq and not kick me in the ass in a few years....a trans on this car is very costly!!

only when trying to spray nitrous during gear shifts with high race maps and methanol added in there. The majority of people running JB3's do not have issues running any of the lower maps without nitrous. You will be fine. Let me know if you want info on the JB3.

I've heard the step is designed for a maximum of 500lbft of input torque the only guy I've heard with step isuues was a guy on e90post running somewhere in the mid 500s and spraying between shifts.
I'm getting dinan stage 3 software soon, so I hope it's good |

I've had my Dinan Stage 2 for approx 17.5K miles - no Step problems yet.
Now as for the HPFP - long cranks started about 1000 miles ago. . . Have Fun, Rick

I can show you plenty of people who prove otherwise. BMW also says the HPFP is software related and you must only get oil changes from the dealer because it will void your warranty.

BMW doesn't say only the dealer can do oil changes. That would be illegal in America. BMW only says that you must use an approved grade of oil at no more than 15,000 mile intervals.
