Front turn signal issue... New Headlight!?!?
I've had problems with my front turn signal for a couple weeks now, and the dealership is telling me that the headlight housing that holds the bulb is worn out. I brought it in for a second time today with a new bulb and bulb holder and there telling me I need a new headlight. Whenever I try to use it the light flickers fast. Is this true that I need a new headlight?

The light flickering fast usually means an indicator bulb is out somewhere.
You might want to try replacing the bulb holder first and cleaning the contacts inside the headlight housing (where the bulb holder meets the headlight housing) and see if that helps. |

I would have thought you'd get some sort of CEL/alert if you had a bulb out with these cars?
There used to be a 2002 X5 in my family and it would blink turn signals rapidly when it thought it had a bulb out someplace in the turn signal chain. Take all bulbs out and clean socket contacts well with electric contact cleaner and see if the behavior changes. That fails, replace all the bulbs as one is nearly out (car thinks it is).
