Thanks OP for this thread.
I was unaware of this thread and posted something similar in the 3-series forum, last week:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=739068
Thought you might be interested as it's another vendor carrying the TRW M3 Arms.
I've since googled them and they turn up elsewhere, but not sure what to make of the vendors selling them.
I'm thinking I'll eventually find them cheaper, as someone will put them on special or have a store-wide sale that will drop the price.

Sub Total: $375.27 Shipping: $86.05 Total: $461.32

i'm pretty sure that's as cheap as it gets

also, i'm going to have to give a shout out to Doug @ Turner for otherwise exemplary service assistance and extremely quick replies, dealing with my email query in real time

sadly, th price difference of $461 shipped to $7xx shipped is WAY too high for me to consider OEBMW parts.. even if i don't get an ///M logo, i'm not driving an M car, my vin doesn't say i am, but i 'm more than happy to go around corners faster than one

Places like turner and the like have the kits for $599 plus post or thereabouts

http://www.oembimmerparts.com/category_s/1837.htm

$374.90 plus shipping from here for left+right upper and lower control arm/tension rods M3- shipped to me in australia comes to $ 584.55 (cheaper than everywhere else even WITHOUT shipping!)

Within the states shipped it should be ~$ 460.85

and

confirmation they're the real thing.

ED: since it doesn't include the headlight rod, somewhere like http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Head...t_Rod/ES66416/ - looks like it's only a $10-$15 item, nothing to stress over or make this any less of a bargain..
Southern BM in vic have all of these parts for great prices, shop local!

Flinchy,

did you receive any additional emails from TRW or others regarding quality questions that you asked?

Also based on my search, the rear end TRW parts( M3 rear guide rods) are almost same as OE M3 in price.

somewhat of an update

looks like ECS paid some attention to this thread possibly?

http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E82-128...Arm/ES2586480/

they actually do the full kit as a single purchase now

same price, heaps easier!

on back order though

looks like people have been buying it for sure haha

i'm just deciding what to buy, i have a bit of spare cash before other things become more important, what to buy what to buy

M3 front strut brace looks nice... M3 control arms look nice.. subframe bushings look nice :/

flinchy - yep I had my guys make a nice easy to find kit for everyone! It's a hair cheaper than buying the parts individually

As for the backorder, we're working to fix that as quickly as we can. I'll be announcing it's back as soon as we get confirmation the parts are in route to us once again!

I'm sure He'll reply, but, here's a couple out of the several emails i got about it from various vendors

All of these parts are built to meet original equipment specification for fitment as well as durability.

Thanks

They are OEM as stated in the listing, OEM means original equipment manufacutre, Which means they are made by the same company that makes them for bmw. In this case TRW. Yes they do include the bushing as well.

Hi Brendan,

The Original Equipemnt Part and the Aftermarket part are Completely Identical.

They are both produced by the same factory for TRW.

Regards TRW Aftermarket UK.
Ed: since making this thread, price has gone up by about $5?

$375 to $382.95

But shipping is $3 cheaper to australia (and free to USA) - so i guess it works out the same... Or close enough.. And shipping drops fast with multiple orders.

Hi James,
does your kit include the headlight adjust rod?
if one were to only purchase the wishbones (both sides) does price include headlight adjust rod?

Middle of pic in the kit link is the adjuster rod

Read the first post for second q

If not purchasing the kit, the rod is a totally separate (but available) item.

Great job everyone, really like how this topic evolved into a new mod path. Makes great sense for the lower end 1 series cars.

Physically I've held both parts at the same time, taken number measurements etc. As many others have stated, same exact parts just without the genuine BMW packaging and markings. TRW is known for producing high quality aftermarket and OEM parts. If they we're not up to standards I would not allow them to be ran on our old 135i, the E92 335 or our E90 M3.

As finchy said, the kit does include the rod. If you buy the parts individually they do not include it, it must be purchased separately. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you need any assistance.

Does ECS Tuning sell TRW branded rear suspension in a kit as well? I can only seem to find Genuine BMW parts. Would be handy if they did, possibly group it like they did with the front suspension.
