I have to see IF the current 3.25 R6 M3 engine is heavier than the E90 M3 V8.(4.0?)
I really doubt that. And I doubt many of those thoughts here. 335i in EU will be a 3.0 R6 twinturbo. |

Please read carefully. cntlaw mixed up what speedfreak said: upcoming M3 V8 is shorter than M3 I6, but lighter than Hartge V8 built in Z4. Please all calm down, time will tell for sure |

Yes. Time will tell I am in no hurry. My savings is even slower than BMW's new cars .

So far BMW has officially denied that the V8 will fit into the Z4 bonnet. Of course SpeedFreak could still be right - but still something to consider.

There will be NO V8 in E85 Z4 M.
BMW decided to rank M's to eliminate cross-interference among M models: M1/M2 coupe & cabrio will feature I4 turbo with just under 300HP. Z4 M roadtser & coupe - I6 NA with 343HP M3 - V8 NA with 400+HP M5 & M6 - V10 NA with 507HP *HP by European standard |

M1/M2 will be much lighter and agiler than 130i, and with much more torque. Nothing to worry about performance wise. |

Yeeess!!!
I totally was hoping the 335 would be natually aspirated! And, 310+ bhp is the right number - hopefully there will be +250ft/lbs of torque.
I guess it would be wishful thinking that they'll offer SMG, but the direct injection would be great. The fuel economy should be decent - hopefully at least 20 mpg city. I heard there may be dual exhaust w/ single port... I hope it looks better than the Honda/Acura TSX exhaust. |

OK, I read cntlaws post, so I got confused
It's normal:A V8 could be shorter than a R6.(and this one will) I think there won't be an Z4 V8 anyway. And I think the 335i biturbo is my next car within 2 years. (I live in Europe) |

Ihope that they offer a non-turbo. I am not a fan, I don't mod cars and turbo lag is something noone can eliminate and definately something I can do without.
With Di, some software playing around power can be the displacement equivalent of a 3.5 litre engine, they can call it 335, have it push 310 from a normally aspirated engine |

Just to be clear... MY07 SOP June '06 328Ci (235hp) and 335Ci (NA 310hp) with the sedan to follow SOP Sept. '06. This is still the inside scoop as far as my BMW NA sources are concerned.

lol I'm getting confused with all the information presented. Speedfreak, can you post a review list of what BMW might be preparing for the next few years? If it's not too much trouble that is.
