Sorry guys, I'm not a wheel expert so I need you guys to chime in and tell me whether or not these wheels will fit.

Front: 18" x 8.5 ET-38
Rear:18" x 9.5 ET-45

Fronts, probably with 225s. Rears, you'll have what people here call "poke" (and I'm not particularly fond of). those wheels will stick out, but you could probably prevent rubbing with smaller tires, like 235s (or roll the fenders aggressively for a larger tire)

This is a picture that Studie Japan sent me regarding Advan RS 8.5" ET38 wheels they had fitted to their 135i



They told me they had a lot of work to get them to fit and had to dial in a lot of neg camber and roll arches to squeeze them in

Those are definitely not 225's though, as I suggested would work.

I've had 4 sets of wheels on my 135i, with a half dozen different tires. I want to hear what size tires the OP wants to try to fit.

first of all, check the offsets again

no chance in hell a 8.5 -38 is gonna fit, most likely thats a typo and it +38, HUGE difference

a +38 should fit, a lot of people run VRM wheels w/ 8.5 +40, w/ out problems

stick w/ a 225 tire and a brand that doesnt run wide and you'll be ok

REMEMBER, DOUBLE CHECK THE OFFSETS, NO WAY A NEG OFFSET WILL FIT THESE CARS

Sorry guys. Yeah, it was a typo on the website.
The wheels are 18 x 8.5 ET +38 Fronts and 18 x 9.5 ET +45 Rears.
So would these fit alright?
Also, what tire should i get?

I already answered your question regarding the wheel fitment. The fronts will be okay, and the rears will stick out... 100% guaranteed. I would not use that fitment, as it's not intended for our cars.

If you are asking what brand/model of tire, it depends on what you want to get out of the tire, and there's a hundred threads on various aspects of different tires in this forum, if you want info on the majority of tires available.

225/40 and 255/35 should work, just try to get tires and dont run wider than normal. Just keep in mind, you will have to roll the rear fenders to prevent any rubbing

If you do not want any rubbing, I do not think that 255s will fit on a 18x9.5 ET45 rear, even with rolling, unless you do more than roll, and rather push the profile of the fender out too.

Tons of people on this site (including me) have similar wheels. Those are aggressive offsets but there just are not that many wheels that fit our cars well. If they are unique wheels or you are getting a great deal then I'd get them, if not I'd pick up something with better offsets.

On the stock suspension I think you'll just rub occasionally, both front and rear, especially if you run the right tires. If you want to lower you'll still be able to make it work, especially as long as you don't mind stretched tires.

For sure I'd get Toyo T1R tires, 225/40 and 255/35. I guess Falkens run just as small and would work also.

are you guys positive these wheels will rub? the vendor i'm getting these through assured me that these would fit no problem. there was also a member on here that was running the same wheels on the stock run flats and he said he had no rubbing on stock suspension.

I would go with Apex ARC-8 weels. They have right offset for our cars.

Wishbone, as I stated earlier, on the stock suspension you should rarely rub with the right tires. The stock runflats will be very stretched on this width wheel but that will help the rubbing issue.

You'll probably rub less than I do and mine is very manageable. I just have to watch out for big bumps when carrying passengers or my rear will rub. For the front I just have to slow down a tad when turning and inclining, like when entering an angled driveway entrance.

if you really dont wanna worry about rubbing, roll your fenders and run a 245/35 in the rear.

you may occasionally rub, if you have a lot of people in the car and you hit a dip but shouldnt happen a lot

Scrubs paint off, damages the tires (can even cause a blowout), and has potential to rip off your fender liner or even your fender.

(and yes, I've personally seen a few fender liners, and one front fender get ripped off from rubbing tires)

lol, your biggest problem is gonna be the rear. the front are usually ok w/ proper tire sizes.

The 18"x 8.5 ET-38 in the front and 18x 9.5 ET-45 can work on the 1series as long as you run a stretched tire (Toyo T1R, Nitto Invo). You may also have to roll your fenders to achieve proper fitment.

If I were in your shoes I'd definitely consider the fact that some modification may be necessary to get the mentioned wheel sizes and offsets to fit correctly on the car.

how much are those and how long does it take to get them because i heard forgestar isn't sending out any wheels for a while

will need a combo of fender roll and neg chamber to eliminate the rub or reduce it. Cutting is an option that will work, but that has it's negatives...
