I wish they would have at least released a few pics to show the ''look'' of the car. I understand the specs may not be final. but I'm pretty sure the look is already set in stone.

So does anybody think that BMW actually listened to the complaining of the enthusiast crowd here about the car not being good enough?
Afterall the 1er is already a niche car, its safe to say that a lot of potential M1 owners are the enthusiats on sites like this one. The thought isnt too farfetched is it? |

Again--makes me wonder how much of a reality this car will really be....

Probably a good thing here, but totally took the wind out of my sails. I need to be more of a patient man anyway.

I can't hold back anymore on this.
I dont actually believe all this mumbo-jumbo. I personally think its B.S. Why can't they show a "Concept" car. Nobody would be driving the damn thing anyway. It has nothing to do with power and weight IMO. Most of that has to be already locked in by now. All those things SCOTT said would only make sense if the release date was pushed back. I dont think they had plans to show it at all. Why? Because it has been months since SCOTT even mentioned Geneva on here. One could say it was delayed b/c of styling issues. I would hope the board approved the car's styling months ago. Not during a "drive" done last week. Plus, its very confusing when they mention the "board." In reality, the family with the majority shares for the last 50 years control BMW(over 40%). They ultimately have the last say in most matters. I can't visualize them taking anything out for a spin. I think this was just a free feedback exercise and a horrible one at that. Now they know how excited we are and the huge amount of M3 and 3er drivers showing interest. Hopefully we will get some pictures during Geneva. They can't keep bumping this back. Would they really want to debut this concept along side the M5 concept. I wouldn't think so. Such a missed opportunity. We even have BIMMERPOST.com out there taking great shots. Bummer.

I still don't understand why they couldn't have at least a mock up there? At least a shell with blacked out windows to hide internals would have worked.

It s good it s not there. Then they have time to re think the thing and watch some CSL movies and think again about an how drivers M1 should sound look and have throttle response.
A 135i with some wide finders and M goodies is a nice cash cow. But far from an real ///M car how it should be. I hope the extra time gives us a real ///M and not some souped up AG car with an ///M badge. I want to see a piece of ART car and engine. The 1 serie is THE best base for it. Everything else is to heavy and to big to begin with. |

I would like to see some pics as well, but if you think about it, what good is it to have only pics when unveiling an M. People will instantly want to know how much power it has and if that's still in limbo, then I doubt they would unveil anything at all.

Yes, but how a car looks visually is just as important to me as how it performs.
