What a spectacular review. Very thorough in words, photos, and enjoyable video.

I love how the video covers different angles and styles of driving.

The E82 128i is one of my favorite BMWs and is seriously one of the last of a dying breed of wonderful inline-6s.

Well done!

Since some asked about where to buy the headers, Bimmerpost sponsor/vendor, Evolve Automotive is an official Supersprint Distributor.

Thanks man.

And Evolve-Supersprint is fantastic. Simply the best aftermarket combo for any car period. We are pretty lucky in the BMW community.

Thanks TheSTIG for the great reading, I'll post all the material on the official website and add the 128i application now that we're sure the parts fit.
Can you tell me if there are cats on the front pipes too on the US 128i, for a total of 4 cats?
On the 125i EU Spec you have only the ones on the headers.

p.s. the "stuff" is on the the way, you know what I mean...

Excellent!

There are secondary cats on the front pipes of the US 128i that when added to the cats found on the stock headers/collectors come to a total of 4 cats.

I look forward to the package.

Agreed, 100%!!

Many years ago, I almost bought insanely wallet friendly ebay headers for my E46 M3. Evolve Automotive were the ones who really convinced me that Supersprint was well worth the investment. I'm glad for once I wasn't so stubborn and that I took the plunge on the sexy Supersprint goodies!

Keep us posted on your build!

I've considered the super sprint headers, but I'm worried that it will be insanely loud paired with my berk race exhaust. Congrats with everything!

Why do they make headers for 125i in LHD when 125i's are only RHD?

http://www.supersprint.com/en/prod-3...93E280BA_.aspx

Or does it not matter what side drive your car is..

I have no emissions crap. I am removing the headers and secondary cats and put a nice Borla exhaust on this, that's enough!

Everyone who goes no cats gets tired of it and goes back. It's just too stinky.

I also have no cats on my track car, but... it's somehow different when you smell it every time you come to a stop sign or red light than when you smell it in the pit lane.

It does.
Contact anyone at evolve and/or supersprint about generating interest for RHD, i saw it mentioned recently.

Just how stinky is no cats? I get a wiff on cold start, is that how bad it gets?

For me to get supersprint would mean saying no cats or reverting to stock mid & muffler. This also opens up issues with emission standards & how I will pass them

Yup, I've seen them first hand. Awful fitment, rattles on the heat shielding, lower power gains; you get what you pay for.

So go back to stock muffler if you need to. No real power gains back there anyways.

It does matter, and most of the world drives a LHD 125i. England and the colonies are not the only places that get the 125i.

Yup. My E36 had not cats for bit, it was terrible.

It's constant smell with no cats. It varies on the engine but idling in traffic or parking lots can be pretty awful if you have no cats. Secondaries in the 128i are really good though it would seem.

It's in limbo. I've had a BMW indy shop on the line for one that they have for the last few months. I just expected to get it sooner.

Sweet! Had to come out of semi-retirement to post. This is definitely on my must-do mod list now, but unfortunately all mods are on hold until I finish grad school in about a year. Congrats on being the first to do this!
