Small, cheap mod
I bought a used diffuser off the classifieds for $50 to do this experiment. Some dremmel, plasti-dip and gutter guard and you can see the before and after.

I hate the grey diffuser, looks stupidly cheap. If it was at least gloss black...
Great BMW roundel by the way. Where did you buy it may I ask?

I thought about doing that when I cut my stock diffuser up. Problem is, only 3 sides of the rectangles are recessed. The middle edge will be ugly without a lot of work.

That looks really good. I have been wanting to do the same thing for quite some time but haven't been able to find another diffuser.

I think you just have to draw one straight line. But not sure never seen how it looks from inside

On the performance diffuser and other models the three holes are placed level with one another.
