rear windows

I neglected to take a peek in the rear of the car during a test drive......dont really care.....I never offer to drive, lol.

one question though.....Are the rear windows power up/down, do they have a "pop out thingey" like my e36, or do they not even open?

no big deal either way.....I think I popped my rear windows open the first week I had my e36.....that was 10 years ago.

Yeah, they don't open. it is a bit disappointing, since I think it would make it a bit quieter with the windows down if you could vent the rear windows... it would give the air somewhere to exit the car.

thanks for the quick reply. how are the aerodynamics insidie the car.....when all windows are down....do you get that weird vaccum pressure that makes your eardrums want to explode.....pretty bad in my e36 with the seats folded down.

Yes - with the caveat that the rear windows should be closed before the front to avoid a possible alignment problem. Luckily, there is a switch to open/close all 4 windows in the proper sequence.

I've found that most cars with a b-pillar are pretty bad with the front windows only down, and the 1er is no exception. While I don't like sunroofs, having it vented or open makes it more tolerable but it's still pretty noisy. Being able to vent the rear windows would probably help, but the E90 loaner I had the other week was much worse than the 1er or my M Coupe, there was no combination of f/r windows and the sunroof that didn't just create a ton of noise and random wind.

I don't get the vacuum pressure that kills my eardrums though, and even though it is loud, turning the stereo up seems to remedy that quite nicely.

Same here. No vacuum or weird pressure waves with everything open, unlike my other cars where you have to figure out the correct amount of front and rear window combination heights to reduce or eliminate that condition.
